«SINGING AND GETTING AROUND»
Si è pensato di svolgere una Unità didattica sulle «directions» utilizzando in modo intensivo le attività di ascolto. Per rendere più motivante l’UD si è scelto di iniziare con una canzone ritmata ed accattivante per i ragazzi così da coinvolgerli attivamente. La seconda parte appare più tradizionale nel suo svolgimento con attività di «pair work » e «role play».
Lo scopo finale è quello di condurre gli alunni gradatamente dalle abilità ricettive a quelle produttive.
Si è scelto di lavorare insieme sulla stessa attività che andremo a svolgere in classi parallele ma in scuole diverse per confrontare la risposta alle singole attività e poi i risultati ottenuti
MOTIVAZIONI DELLA SCELTA
Constatazione ripetuta delle difficoltà degli allievi nelle attività di ascolto e dell’importanza delle stesse come punto di partenza per lo sviluppo delle competenze comunicative in LS.

• Partendo dalle attività di ascolto come input si è inteso sviluppare le competenze semantico/lessicali per approdare ad una migliore capacità di produzione linguistica a livello comunicativo.
CLASSE DI RIFERIMENTO, DISCIPLINE COINVOLTE E ANALISI DEI BISOGNI
• Il lavoro nasce dall’esigenza di proporre agli allievi delle classi PRIME della scuola secondaria secondaria superiore una proposta operativa che li portasse a migliorare la comprensione attraverso l’uso di specifiche funzioni comunicative ; infatti allievi presentavano in partenza difficoltà a comprendere messaggi orali espressi in contesti reali e faticavano di conseguenza a fornire risposte adeguate. Abbiamo ritenuto pertanto necessario guidarli all’acquisizione di tali competenze attraverso attività più intense e mirate ma anche coinvolgenti.

FINALITA’/OBIETTIVI/COMPETENZE
• far prendere coscienza anche agli studenti che l’ascolto è un processo di costruzione e interpretazione dei significati;
• attivare la loro enciclopedia o conoscenza del mondo mediante processi cognitivi di predizione, anticipazione, formulazione di ipotesi;
• sensibilizzarli all’ascolto come processo relazionale capace di accogliere il messaggio e il punto di vista dell’altro

METODI E STRATEGIE
Sviluppare le quattro capacità linguistiche di base (la lingua parlata, l'ascolto, la lettura, la scrittura) con particolare enfasi posta nella sicurezza e la
scioltezza della lingua parlata.
Aiutare gli studenti a comprendere il funzionamento della lingua attraverso compiti e situazioni reali.
Creare l'opportunità di utilizzare attivamente la lingua attraverso lavori di coppia e di gruppo.
Aiutare gli studenti a sviluppare strategie di studio
della lingua appropriate al loro stile di apprendimento
Insegnare agli studenti ad apprendere
autonomamente, in modo tale da sfruttare tutte le situazioni per migliorare le loro capacità
comunicative.
ATTIVITÀ
Noi due insieme Concetta Todarello e Amalia Caruso abbiamo concordato un percorso di sperimentaqzione che, partendo dall’attività d’ascolto svolta in ambiente coinvolgente e capace di catturare l’attenzione degli alunni, sviluppasse una serie di steps atti ad accrescere la competenza semantico /lessicale che è un presupposto per l’arricchimento del vocabulary e delle capacità comunicative in determinati contesti.

cognitivi di predizione, anticipazione, formulazione di ipotesi. Attività : Headway Elementary Inspiration Pre-IntermediateMatching exercise , Cloze, Fill in , Correct, Role-play, Questions and answers.

siamo partite come input da attività di ascolto per approdare ad una migliore capacità di produzione orale.

SECONDO INCONTRO : DOPO LA PRIMA METÀ DI OTTOBRE
• Abbiamo stimolato il riascolto delle video canzoni utilizzando il metodo Cornell per prendere appunti e annotare le parole chiave e ed espressioni polirematiche;
• Abbiamo poi descritto delle mappe concettuali e stimolato l’attività di brain storming;
• Cercato di attivare la loro enciclopedia o conoscenza del mondo mediante processi cognitivi di predizione, anticipazione, formulazione di ipotesi. Ricostruzione del testo della canzone : The butterfly o Tootsie Roll
