DOMAINE J. CACHEUX VOSNE ROMANEE « LES ORMES »

Founded in the late 1800's by Francois Blée, a vineyard worker for the Domaine Marey-Monge, the domaine today is managed by Patrice Cacheux, the 5th generation to oversee the family domaine in Vosne-Romanée. The domaine of 6.87 hectares produces 2,000 to 2,800 cases per year. The farming is sustainable and the winemaking straight forward. This is classic Burgundy, made without pretense..

Vinification and Élevage: Following harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed, then see a 5-7 day cold maceration, after which they go through a temperature controlled fermentation. The wines age for 18 months in barrique, 25% new for the village wines, and 100% new for the 1er and Grand Cru.

About The Vineyard: Les Ormes, sometimes called Aux Ormes is a lieu-dit totaling 4.63 ha, and lies directly south of Chalmades on the north side of the appellation.
