DOMAINE J. CACHEUX VOSNE ROMANEE « LES ORMES » Founded in the late 1800's by Francois Blée, a vineyard worker for the Domaine Marey- Monge, the domaine today is managed by Patrice Cacheux, the 5th generation to oversee the family domaine in Vosne- Romanée. The domaine of 6.87 hectares produces 2,000 to 2,800 cases per year. The farming is sustainable and the winemaking straight forward. This is classic Burgundy, made without pretense.. Region: Burgundy Appellation: Vosne-Romanée Owner: Patrice Cacheux Established: Late 1800s Farming Practices: Sustainable Soil: Limestone and clay Grape Varieties: 100% Pinot Noir Vinification and Élevage: Following harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed, then see a 5-7 day cold maceration, after which they go through a temperature controlled fermentation. The wines age for 18 months in barrique, 25% new for the village wines, and 100% new for the 1er and Grand Cru.
