Day 1 - Depart from USAYour Wesley Heritage travel study program begins as you departthe United States on your international flight to England.

Day 2 - Arrival in England/ Birmingham and CoventryArrive in Manchester this morning. Our representative will greetyou outside the baggage claim area. In the afternoon, you willdepart for the Midlands area, where you will spend the nextseven nights at a first class hotel. In Birmingham, you’ll visit theboyhood home of Francis Asbury. Sent to America by Wesley,Asbury became the first elected bishop of the AmericanMethodist Church. On the evening of November 14, 1940, aholocaust of bombs and fire destroyed much of Coventry.Experience the pain and the triumph of the townspeople whenyou visit the beautiful cathedral. Tonight, you will join the peopleof Coventry Cathedral for Evensong (when school is in session).

Day 3 - EpworthThe quiet English countryside and green, rolling hills will delightyou as you travel to remote Epworth in the Fen Country. HereSamuel and Susanna Wesley raised their brood of children inthe Old Rectory while he served the Parish Church for 39 years.You’ll become familiar with the upbringing and early life of Johnand Charles Wesley when you visit their childhood home. You’llsee Memorial Church, built with contributions from around theworld. Enjoy a worship service with the local people of Epworth.Then visit St. Andrews Church at Epworth.

Day 4 - Stratford and OxfordYou’ll glimpse life as it was in the day of William Shakespearewhen you visit his birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Not faraway, he courted his wife, Anne Hathaway, in the garden of herdelightful thatched-roof cottage. You’ll also drive past Holy TrinityChurch, where Shakespeare is buried. At Oxford, learn about theeducational background of the Wesley brothers John, Charlesand Samuel, Jr. when you view Christ Church College at OxfordUniversity.

Day 5 - Bristol and BathIn the ancient port city of Bristol, you’ll have a lecture in one ofWesley’s early centers of ministry, the “New Room.” This oldestMethodist building in the world is unusually attractive in its basicsimplicity. Then visit the home of Charles Wesley, the famoushymn writer. Bath, a spa town of Roman origin, deserves itsname. Since the first century, the warm waters have refreshedand healed. You’ll see the unique Roman baths and enjoy thisbeautiful city of 18th century streets and quaint shops.

Day 6 - Cotswolds and GloucesterEnjoy a scenic drive through the charming villages of theCotswolds where honey colored cottages cluster together insecluded valleys. Enjoy a visit to Burton-on-the-Water, one of themost visited Cotswolds villages. The city of Gloucester boasts asmall church which changed the world. You’ll learn aboutGeorge Whitefield, who grew up in the congregation of St. Maryde Crypt. Known as the greatest orator of his day, GeorgeWhitefield’s talents led him to minister in America. St. Mary deCrypt also produced Robert Raikes, founder of the SundaySchool movement. Both Whitefield and Raikes had a profoundinfluence upon Wesley. At St. Mary de Crypt, the first Women’sSociety was also founded.

Day 7 - Wesley’s London John Wesley left his mark on the town of London. You’ll have alecture at City Road Chapel, site of Wesley’s home and grave.Across the street in Bunhill Fields Cemetery, Susanna Wesley isburied along with other famous personages such as JohnBunyan and Daniel Defoe. You’ll walk on Aldersgate Streetwhere on May 24, 1738; John Wesley had his “Warming of theHeart” experience. You’ll walk past the entrance of “LittleBritain” where Charles Wesley had his conversion experiencejust three days earlier. Arrive at your hotel this afternoon.

Day 8 - LondonExperience the lifestyle of our British cousins as you explore thevibrant town of London. You’ll be impressed with the regaladornment of Buckingham Palace. Drive by the major city sitessuch as Marble Arch, Speakers Corner of Hyde Park, TrafalgarSquare and much more. Your first view will be of WestminsterAbbey where royalty are christened, married and buried. You willvisit St. Paul’s Cathedral where John Wesley often worshipped.On the day of his conversion, Wesley came here for an afternoonservice and was deeply moved by the choir’s anthem, "Out ofthe Deep Have I Called Unto Thee, O Lord."

Day 9 - Departures Say farewell as you return to the USA or enjoy an excitingextension to London or Ireland.

If you had an ancestor who came from Ireland toAmerica, find your family name on the archived passenger lists.Visit Blarney Castle and Blarney Woollen Mills Shop. At the Castleof Blarney you will see the fabled Blarney Stone. Legend says thatthose who kiss the stone acquire a gift of eloquence. See the Rock ofCashel, the traditional seat of Irish kings. Here St. Patrick isthought to have converted the King of Munster. The present ruinsare from structures built in the 12th and 13th centuries duringthe Norman era. Continue on to Dublin for dinner and overnight.Day 12 - DublinExplore historic St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a former Catholic churchnow part of the Church of Ireland. The church was transitionedfrom a Catholic church to the Church of Ireland over the centuries.Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels was a pastor here.John Wesley spoke and administered communion here on one ofhis numerous visits to Ireland. Take a walking tour of TrinityCollege. Founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592, it is the oldestcollege in Ireland. Visit the Old Library here and see the Book ofKells, an ornately illustrated Bible produced by Celtic monksaround 800 AD. Enjoy lunch at the Church, a pub that wasoriginally a church where Wesley preached on his first visit toIreland. Registrations received 105 days-90 days priorto departure will incur a $100 per person fee. Registrations received between 89-75 days prior will incur a$200 per person fee. Registrations received 74 days prior or less will incur an additional fee based on airavailability. Additional fees will be advised upon registration. CANCELLATION FEES: 100% of Cancellation Fees are covered by the optional Travel Protection Program, provided premium hasbeen paid and reason for cancellation is insurable. Those who do not take travel protection should be awareof the following cancellation penalties: From day of registration to 105 days prior to departure, you will becharged the $100 non-refundable administrative fee plus any airline fees.
