This children’s choir was founded in January 2012 by
Roseline Blain, artistic director, pianist and choir
director, and by Julie Roy. From the beginning, this
choral ensemble has been an ambassador for its
community.
The forty odd members of the ensemble, between
seven and fourteen years of age, are mostly
residents of the Plateau Mont-Royal but what unites
them most is a common love: that of choral singing.
Moreover, all through the season, the children learn
more about music by choral singing in a variety of
styles and periods.
Les Petites Voix du Plateau continue to grow in
number and to find more opportunities to perform.
Recently, in the production of Puccini’s La Bohême by
Opéra Immédiat they sang with well-known lyric
artists. Last April, in the salle Claude-Champagne,
they sang along with 80 singers and almost as many musicians in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

La Symphonie vocale de la Fraternité des policiers et
policières de Montréal, founded in 1956, has the
mission of accompanying to their final rest current
and retired colleagues and of giving the families
support, comfort and friendship.
Over the years, the reputation of the Symphonie
vocale has grown and, ever more frequently, they
have presented all types of concerts—benefits,
telethons, fund raisers, religious ceremonies, to the
ever greater delight of their audiences.
Composed of about fifty policemen and women
(active and retired) all inspired by the same love of
music, the Symphonie vocale seeks closer links with
Montrealers and acts as an ambassador by singing
messages of love, peace and friendship.
Thanks to the quality of the members’ voices, the
director’s skill and the great talent of the
accompanist, the Symphonie vocale had quickly
acquired recognition in recreational and artistic sectors.

Le Choeur Québécois was founded in the autumn
of 1999 by Gilles Fournier and Jean-François Noel
who are still respectively president-treasurer and
musical director. The choir consists of more than
thirty singers who love to sing. Their repertory
goes from popular songs to the great classics of
yesterday and today as well as musical comedies
and traditional carols. This year marks our
thirteenth anniversary.
An interesting characteristic of the choir is the
integration of new musical technologies which
enhance the listening experience while staying
within the modest budget of a group of this size.
This enables us to produce large scale concerts
without prohibitive costs.
The musical director also does most of the
arrangements and orchestrations for the choir. We have produced 22 compact discs.

Patenaude, consists of twelve young women
passionate about choral singing. In 2012, they
were invited to participate in the recording of the
works of Alfred Descarries, formerly kapellmeister
of Saint Viateur Church in Outremont; the launch
took place in October 2013.
They also produced two discs in 2011: Théodore
Dubois: Motets, as well as Les sept paroles de
notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, F. De la Tombelle.
In addition to recordings, les Filles de l'île
undertake many other musical projects. They
sang at the Mondial Choral de Laval, at the
Château Ramezay, at the théâtre de Vieux
Terrebonne with the choir The Minstrels of Hope
(Philippines) and on several occasions in the
Montreal Botanical Gardens.

The Massenet choir has been performing for 85
years during which the members have been
generously communicating their love of choral
singing. Since 1928, the Disciples of Massenet
have sung with great artists under the direction of
well known leaders.
The choir has produced about fifteen discs, among
them Le Premier Nöel with the tenor, Marc
Hervieux. Since 2001, Lucie Roy has provided the
artistic and musical direction of the choir. An
inquisitive, dynamic and eclectic artist, Lucie Roy
is known for her great musicality, her precision
and her tireless energy. Very active in the Quebec
choral scene, she understands and ably
communicates the spirit of the works to be
interpreted.
The current singers appreciate the various
opportunities for learning a variety of vocal
techniques at each of the rehearsals and at the
workshops open to all. The search for new members is continual. Contact us.
