Le mot de La directriceCe n’est qu’un au revoir…Déjà deux ans se sont écoulés depuis mon arri-vée, ici, à Christchurch et il est donc désormais temps pour moi de voler vers d’autres horizons.

Je quitte la Nouvelle-Zélande avec des souvenirs de rencontres mémo-rables, d’amitiés extraordinaires et de paysages magiques et magni-fiques.Ces deux années passées avec vous à Christchurch ont été pour moi très enrichissantes et c’est avec regret que je quitte l’AF. Cependant, j’ai rencontré ici des personnes formi-dables : des Kiwis amoureux de la France et de sa culture et des fran-çais passionnés, désireux de parta-ger leur héritage français. Et je sais que cela ne s’arrête pas là.C’est pourquoi, je n’ai pas qu’inquié-tude concernant le rayonnement de notre culture et de notre langue en Nouvelle-Zélande. Morgane, ma remplaçante, saura continuer à faire vibrer la culture française à Christ-church, je n’en ai aucun doute. Et je sais que vous aurez à cœur de l’accueillir avec toute la gentillesse par laquelle vous m’avez accueillie.Je vous donne donc un dernier ren-dez-vous, le 14 juillet à l’AF, pour célébrer ensemble la fête nationale qui aura un goût de Noël de l’hémis-phère nord : buffet, vin et … feu de cheminée !N’hésitez surtout pas à venir me voir en France !Merci à tous et à très bientôt

It’s not a farewell…Two years already have passed since I arrived here, in Christchurch. So it’s time for me to leave you. I’m leaving New Zealand full of memo-ries of memorable meetings, wonder-ful friendships and magical lands-capes.These two years in Christchurch, with you, have been very rewarding and it’s with regret I’m leaving the AF. However, I’ve meet wonderful people here: Kiwis in love with France and its culture and passionate French sharing their French heritage. And I know it’s not only that.That’s why I’m not worried about the spreading of the French culture and language in New Zealand. Morgane, my replacement, will still vibrate the French culture in Christchurch; I’ve no doubt about that. And I know you will welcome her with all the kind-ness you welcomed me.Don’t hesitate to come and share a last event with me, the 14th of July where we will celebrate Bastille Day. It will have the taste of a French Christmas: French food, wine and … fire in a fireplace!I’m waiting for your visit in France.Thanks a lot and see you soonKia Ora

Résumé:L’auteur relate au travers de huit nouvelles, à la

fois drôles et émouvantes, huit épisodes tragi-co-miques de son enfance dans le Montréal des années cinquante. Les souvenirs de Michel Tremblay sont circonscrits à un lieu précis, la maison familiale si-tuée rue Fabre à Montréal. Dans la petite enfance de l’auteur, cette grande maison accueille alors pas moins de onze membres de la « parenté » Tremblay. Il y a Michel, sa mère Rhéauna dite « Nana », son père, ses deux grands frères, sa grand-mère Trem-

concours cuisine des ecoLes The Alliance Française was pleased to organise the «School French Cooking Contest» which took place on June the 14th at Cashmere High School. For more than three hours, 14 teams from 8 different scho-ols competed in making the best French menu. Each team was composed of students from Year 10 to 13, all studying French. They had to provide a main course and a dessert from a French region of their choice.

A French jury then as-sessed their menu and rewarded the three winning teams, with the colaboration of St Germain Restaurant, The French Bakery, and won other French goods.

Congratulations to Dar-field High School Team 2, the winner of this contest, to Christ-church Girls’ High School Team 1 who was placed second and to Rangiora High School, who completed the podium.

The Alliance Française congratulates all teams for the lovely dishes they cooked, and thanks to Cashmere High Scho-ol for hosting this contest, as well as its partners, St Germain Restaurant and The French Bakery.
