    Medford Energy Committee

    Meeting MinutesOctober 3

    rd, 2011

    City Hall, room 207

    Run Time: 6:00-7:30pm

    Attendance: Alicia Hunt, Curtis Tuden, J.R. Siegel, Jeff Goldsmith, Rick Sacco, Fred

    Laskey, Susan Altman, Bob Paine, John Rogers

    1) Approval of minutes from 9/12/11 meeting

    - approval pushed back until next meeting because of late posting

    2) The 2011 Harvest Your Energy Festival Debriefing

    - attendance was around 450

    - suggestions for next year: food distributor, target more vendors,

    display more information on Windy.

    - Some feedback on the timing of the event, it was good to holdwith the Rebels, but there is so much going on this time of year

    Note: John Rogers will look into finding appropriate information for possiblepermanent display

    3) Updates on City Energy Projectsa) Medford PV project (via email)

    There has been virtually no movement on the PV project. Carey has taken it back over

    now that she is back.b) MHS hot water heater project (via email)

    The hot water project is complete. The new heaters are installed, inspected andoperational. We even have water into the A building. Only thing left is close-out

    paperwork and reports.

    c) lighting projects including public safety and schools

    Only the Senior Center project and punch lists are not complete. The consultant ispursuing those now. We hope to move forward with lighting projects in both middle

    schools and the MHS gymnasium area this fall.

    4) Update from Climate Action Plan Subcommittee

    - currently gathering new info and deciding methods

    - presentation to be made at next committee meeting

    5) Green Column for Medford Transcript

    - column will begin as blog entries for Transcript web-site writtenby committee members and members of Green Medford

    6) New Business

    - next meeting will make time for addressing new directions andprojects for committee

    - involvement in Medfords upcoming Capitol Development Plan

    - EPA environmental education grant application

    - Medford TV3 appearance options. Considering option to go onZiggys show and option to work with J.R.s video blog.

    - Can we get statistics on how many people have solar panels?

    Can National Grid give us data?
