    1. Welcome - Mayor McGlynn

    Introduction by the mayor where he appointed Fred Laskey as Medford Energy

    Committee Chairman.

    2. Introduction to Committee - Alicia Hunt

    As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Energy Efficiency Conservation

    Block Grantthe position of Energy Efficiency Coordinator was created for the City of Medford. Alicia

    was hired into that position and one of her responsibilities is to work with the Medford Energy Committee.There is a description of the committee that can be found on the web page.

    3. Introduction of members and attendance: Fred Laskey, Alicia Hunt, Jonathan Hunt, Susan Altman,Bob Pain, Jawad Benazzi, J.R. Siegel, Rick Sacco, Curtis Tuden, Richard Cormio, Jeff Goldsmith

    Not in Attendance: Brett Sullivan and Elisabeth Krautscheid

    4. Process and Discussion

    Housekeeping: Meeting Schedule: Second Monday of the every month at 6pm.

    -Subject to change [ed. Meeting time changed to first Monday

    of each month due to room scheduling difficulty]

    Subcommittees: Will be formed through Committee and scheduled to meet as

    needed.

    Parliamentary Procedure: Majority rules stressing the need for cooperation

    between Committee members. No decisions will be made or debatedoutside official meeting schedule in accordance with Medford open

    meeting rules.

    5. First Steps and HomeworkHandout: Recent Energy and Environmental Initiatives

    -outlined projects completed over the last 10 years

    Handout: Current Projects

    - outlines current projects and submitted grantsHandout: City of Medford Climate Action Plan (October 2001)

    Moving Forward: 1. Being aware of current grants & projects

    - focusing on increasing the efficiency of materials in Medford Public

    Schools and municipal buildings- Upgrading hot water heaters at Medford High School, currently

    measuring hot water consumption at MHS i.e. meters and

    preparing RFQ for consultant

    - Purchasing electricity more intelligently- Investigating mechanisms for reaching out to more citizens

    Action Items: Initial review of Medfords Climate Action Plan, please read and come prepared to

    discuss at the next meeting.
