Dear Friends,

It is with great honour and pride that I will be chairing the SFCM this year. 2017 will end with our Annual Congress. Since Christmas will be just around the corner, the customary dates for the congress will be from the 18th of December, 2pm, until the 20th of December, 6:30pm. We hope to see growing numbers of participants each and every year.The programme of this congress will be very rich and exciting. I invite you all to contribute actively to it with a lecture, an e-poster or a flash-video.

The topics broached by the speakers will be: the treatment for digital pulp loss, the loss of substance on the volar face of fingers, finger stiffness, scaphoid pseudarthrosis, autograft joint and vascular transfers to the hand, hand development embryology and, finally, hand and wrist pyrocarbon implants; this lecture will be the last of your 2017 CPD.

Switzerland will be our guest of honour. A delegation made up of Esther Vögelin, Maurizio Calgagni, Daniel Herren, Ladi Nagy, Michaël Papaloïzos, Grégoire Chick and Stephen Schindele will share their ground-breaking experience with us in the form of mini-conferences, debates/controversial views. Aymeric Lim, our guest from Singapore, will give a talk on the anatomic basis for nerve transfers.

The round tables and symposia will attempt to highlight the practices and decisions made on topics such as: rhizarthrosis in the young subject, destruction of the non-arthritic PIP joint and WALANT hand surgery with Donald Lalonde, where we need to take stock of the situation in our profession.

The team from Nantes will discuss humanitarian hand surgery. There will be a one to one discussion on whether to treat scaphoid pseudarthrosis through open versus arthroscopic surgery. This year’s innovation will be an interactive session on clinical cases with Laurent Obert.

We will have the great pleasure of exchanging with our physiotherapists friends from SFRM/GEMMSOR during a round table meeting on the trapeziometacarpal joint, a vast topic.A session dedicated to nurses on the management of hand injury emergencies has been organised as part of their life-long training.

Finally, the keynote session will welcome a renowned paleoanthropologist who will make a very surprising and enlightening presentation entitled «My little finger tells me».

In line with the previous congresses, this year will be a highly digitalized one. Hence, you will receive aid to follow your own programme, take part and interact in various sessions and even vote for the winners of the SFCM awards.We have improved our lunch which will be friendlier as it will be held amidst the technical exhibition, thus, allowing you to get closer to our partners.

In keeping with this same friendly spirit, you are kindly invited to attend the gala dinner hosted by Le Nôtre, on the 19th of December at the Pré Catelan. An original wine tasting session with Olivier Poussier, the world’s best sommelier in 2000, is awaiting you.

L’année 2017 durant laquelle j’aurai eu l’honneur et la fierté de présider la SFCM, se termine par notre congrès annuel. Du fait de la proximité des Fêtes de Noël, les dates traditionnelles du congrès ont été fixées du lundi 18 décembre à 14h au mercredi 20 décembre 18h30. Cela va faciliter votre participation qui nous l’espérons sera toujours plus nombreuse.Le programme du congrès est, je le pense, aussi varié que passionnant. Votre contribution par une communication orale, un e-poster ou une vidéo-flash y est pour beaucoup.

Les conférences d’enseignement ont comme sujet: le traitement des pertes de substances pulpaires et de la face palmaire des doigts, des raideurs digitales, des pseudarthroses du scaphoïde, des transferts articulaires vascularisés à la main, de la biologie du développement embryonnaire de la main et enfin des implants en pyrocarbone à la main et au poignet. Notez que cette dernière conférence permettra de clôturer votre DPC 2017.

La Suisse est notre invitée d’honneur. Une délégation, constituée d’Esther Vögelin, Maurizio Calgagni, Daniel Herren, Ladi Nagy, Michaël Papaloïzos, Stephen Schindele et Grégoire Chick, partagera avec nous sous forme de mini-conférences et de débat-controverses leurs expériences souvent originales. Aymeric Lim, autre invité étranger de Singapour, nous exposera l’anatomie des transferts nerveux.

Les tables rondes et symposia vont tenter de faire le point et de dégager des attitudes pratiques et décisionnelles à propos de la rhizarthrose du sujet jeune, de l’IPP détruite non arthrosique, ainsi que de la WALANT chirurgie, avec la présence de Donald Lalonde, sur laquelle un état des lieux propre à notre environnement professionnel s’impose.La chirurgie de la main humanitaire que tient à coeur l’équipe Nantaise fait partie des débats tout comme un face à face opposant le traitement à ciel ouvert ou par voie arthroscopique des pseudarthroses du scaphoïde.Nous innovons cette année par une séance interactive de Dossiers Cliniques animée par Laurent Obert.

Nous avons le plaisir de partager avec nos amis kinésithérapeutes de la SFRM/GEMMSOR une table ronde sur le vaste sujet de l’articulation trapézométacarpienne. Une session dédiée aux infirmières, avec des ateliers pratiques, va traiter de la prise en charge d’une urgence de la main.

Enfin, la séance solennelle va accueillir Florent Détroit, paléoanthropologue, pour une conférence intitulée « Mon petit doigt m’a dit » aussi étonnante qu’enrichissante.

Dans la lancée des congrès précédents, le tout électronique sera bien présent. Vous pourrez ainsi suivre votre propre programme mais aussi participer de façon interactive à différentes sessions ainsi que élire les lauréats des prix de la SFCM.Nous avons amélioré les prestations de la pause déjeuner au sein de l’exposition technique pour vous permettre d’être, de façon conviviale, plus au contact de nos partenaires.

Dans le même esprit de convivialité, vous êtes invités à participer au diner de gala du mardi 19 décembre qui se tiendra au Pré Catelan autour d’un diner Le Nôtre avec une animation oenologique originale d’Olivier Poussier Meilleur Sommelier du Monde 2000.
