    ANGLE OF ELEVATION

The angle of elevation of an object as seen by

an observer is the angle between the horizontaland the line from the object to the observer's

    eye (the line of sight).

    ANGLE OF DEPRESSION

If the object is below the level of the observer,

then the angle between the horizontal and the

observer's line of sight is called the angle ofdepression.

    HOWTO MAKE

    HYPSOMETER???

To make a hypsometer, we used a piece of cardboard

(rectangular- shaped), protractor, small drinking straw, thread

and a weight. Our step to make the hypsometer as like below:

    1. Firstly, design your hypsometer on the cardboard and cut it.

    2. On the cardboard, put the protractor at the centre of the

    cardboard.

    3. Tie piece of thread at the small hole on the protractor.

    4. Tie a weight at the loose end of the thread

    5. Tape drinking straw along one side on the cupboard.

    6. Combine it like the picture below.

THE HYPSOMETER CAN BE USED TO GATHER INFORMATION BY

    FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS BELOW:

1.Line N represents the height of the eye from the ground.

2.Line F represents the distance from the building to us.

3.Point D represents the degree of the angle of elevation from our eye to the

    top of the building.

4.Line S represents the distance of the building, from the top to the Line N only.

The whole distance of the building is when we add the value of line S and Line

    N.

5.Firstly we take measurement using tape measure the line F of where stand to

the building. Then we put the data appropriately in to the table.

6.After that hold the hypsometer at the eye, view through the straw at P the top

of the building. Take the measurement of the D, degree at the protector then

put the data in to the table.

7.After completing the table we do the calculation.

    COMPLETING THE CALCULATION

To complete the calculation of the height of thebuilding we used the trigonometry formula. Thetrigonometry formula that we used for this problemis

    Line S = Tan D x Line F

    Example Line S = Tan 65 x 4 m

= 9.58 m To get the whole distance of the building is we

need to add the value of Line S with Line N
