The two 100m high skywalks, with a connecting boardwalk, will jut out 25m and 17m beyond the rim of the Murchison River Gorge, providing visitors with spectacular views of the surrounding environment. Kalbarri National Park is located almost 500km north of Perth. The whole project has been designed to fit into the natural environment with minimal impact to the picturesque surrounding. We utilised our specialist small access Comacchio MC- 4D drilling rig which is perfectly suited to sites with difficult access and has a very small footprint. We completed the design and construction of passive and active ground retention systems and stressing/load testing of the active permanent ground anchors. HIGHLIGHTS The ground anchors will enable the cantilevered platforms to extend over the edge of the gorge, so that visitors can take in the amazing views and natural wonders of Kalbarri National Park. The MC-4D drilling rig is also ideal for low head room (under existing bridges, car parks, etc.) and can be easily lifted by crane to platforms or benches.
