Pourquoi nommer Couleurs d’artistes la saison qui s’annonce ? Parce que, plus que jamais, au Québec et ailleurs, ce sont les artistes qui donnent de la couleur à nos vies. Que ce soit devant nos yeux ou via les appareils électroniques qui jonchent notre parcours (les iPad, téléviseurs grand format, iPod et téléphones intelligents de toutes sortes), la couleur de l’information et du divertissement passe par les artistes.

Au Théâtre Centennial, nous leur donnons la parole et l’écoute qu’ils méritent, car c’est avec leurs yeux qu’on peut voir différemment, bellement et intelligemment. Les artistes décortiquent notre perception du monde et la refont selon leur propre vision, que ce soit en musique, en danse ou en théâtre. Découvrez cette année la vision d’un artiste comme David Myles. Son monde vous sourira comme il a souri à la soprano Meesha Brueggergosman, avec qui il a enregistré en duo I’ve Got a Crush on You. Découvrez également l’univers de Jill Barber en français. Son envie de chanter la langue de Molière lui a valu, depuis la sortie de son dernier album Chansons, les plus hauts échelons sur les palmarès du Québec et du Canada.

Je vous invite aussi à découvrir les créations des chorégraphes Benoît Lachambre et Catherine Gaudet, ainsi que le Quatuor Molinari. Venez aussi entendre des voix d’ailleurs et des mondes cul turels autres, tout aussi percutants dans la couleur qu’ils apportent à nos vie : la Malienne Fatoumata Diawara, le Cajun Steve Riley et les gitans d’Urs Karpatz. Consider this your invitation to “Colour your World” but why you may ask? More than ever in Quebec and elsewhere, artists add a dash of color to our lives. Whether in live performance or through the various electronic platforms that surround us (iPad, widescreen televisions, iPod and Smartphone of every dimension), artists are the lens through which we receive the color of information and entertainment.

Centennial Theatre provides an intimate space and a captive audience every artist deserves as it is through their eyes that we can see differently, beautifully and intelligently. Artists break down our perception of the world and reconstruct it with their unique outlook whether in music, dance or theatre. This season discover the vision of such an artist in David Myles. His world will open up to you as it did to soprano Meesha Brueggergosman with whom he recorded the duet I’ve Got a Crush on You. You are also invited to discover the world of Jill Barber “en français”. Her desire to sing in the language of Molière has, since the release of her latest album Chansons, earned her a place at the top of music charts in Quebec and across Canada.

I also invite you to get acquainted with the creations of choreographers Benoît Lachambre and Catherine Gaudet and those of Quatuor Molinari. Come hear voices from around the globe, each one as spellbinding as the next for the colors they add to our lives: Fatoumata Diawara from Mali, Cajun musician Steve Riley and the gypsy voices of Urs Karpatz. KATIE WARD : NIGHT AND DREAMS DU 16 AU 20 SEPTEMBRE / SEPT 16 TO 20

Avec ses complices habituels Peter Trosztmer, Allison Rose Blakley, Patrick Lamothe et Audrey Juteau, Katie Ward occupera la salle de spectacles pour travailler avec le compositeur Mike Feuerstack et la consultante artistique Kathy Casey. Les relations entre les danseurs participant au projet sont à la base du propos de Katie Ward, comme elles l’étaient dans son œuvre précédente présentée au Centennial en 2011, Rock Steady. Le public pourra voir cette œuvre achevée en octobre 2014, mais aura la chance d’assister à un aperçu à la fin de cette semaine de création, le 20 septembre prochain.

With her usual collaborators, Peter Trosztmer, Allison Rose Blakley, Patrick Lamothe and Audrey Juteau, choreographer Katie Ward will settle into Centennial to work with composer Mike Feuerstack and artistic consultant Kathy Casey. As with her previous project, Rock Steady (Centennial 2011), Katie Ward explores the relationships between each of the dancers. Dance enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see the completed work in October 2014, and are offered a rare glimpse into a workinprogress on September 20th.

Quatre femmes de différents âges s’accompagnent et tissent ensemble cette danse qui porte à la fois l’histoire et le devenir de chacune. Avec ce corps qui s’use et qui fuit parfois, elles témoignent et racontent leur vie, leurs blessures et leur résilience.En avantpremière le 30 septembre, en première le 1er octobre et en supplémentairele 1er avril 2014.

Four women of various ages share the stage and create a dance that is both a story and a glimpse into the future of each. As bodies erode and sometimes wither, the women speak not only of their lives and their scars but also of their resilience.Presented as a preview on October 1st, a second presentation will take place on April 1st, 2014.

Le nom le dit : c’est toute une saga qui se dessine derrière ce groupe. Celleci a débuté au conservatoire, alors que les six musiciens improvisaient sur le thème du film Le parrain dans les corridors de l’institution. Bien vite, ils se sont aperçus de leurs affinités musicales et ont formé leur groupe, d’abord appelé Manouche, puis Sagapool (depuis 2008). Sous ce nom, ils ont obtenu de nombreux prix, dont le Félix du meilleur album instrumental de 2012, et des critiques plus qu’élogieuses. « Des paysages cinéma tographiques qui se découvrent sur un folk bucolique et instrumental. Un disque superbe, qui marque un tournant. » (Yves Bernard, Le Devoir) La saga de Sagapool se poursuit aujourd’hui avec Luzio Altobelli à l’accordéon, aux percussions, au piano et à la batterie, Marton Maderspach à la batterie et aux percussions, Zoé Dumais au violon et au glockenspiel, Alexis Dumais au piano, à la contrebasse et aux per cussions, Guillaume Bourque à la clarinette et Dany Nicolas à la guitare, à la contrebasse et au piano.

The name says it all: the journey of this klezmercumBalkan band has been nothing less than, well, a saga. The story begins at the conservatory in 1999 where 6 musicians, feverishly improvising on the famed Godfather soundtrack, promptly embraced their unique musical connection and formed an initial ensemble called Manouche, which would become Sagapool in 2008. With a new moniker, they have garnered several awards including Best Instrumental Album of 2012 at ADISQ and much critical acclaim. And the Sagapool saga continues, with accordionist, percussionist, pianist and drummer Luzio Altobelli, Marton Maderspach also on drums and percussion, Zoé Dumais on violin and glockenspiel, Alexis Dumais on piano and double bass, Guillaume Bourque on clarinet, bass clarinet and trombone, and Dany Nicolas completing the group on guitar, mandolin and piano.

Cinq étrangers vivent dans leur monde. Chaque jour leur quotidien se répète. Certains sont heureux, d’autres moins. Le temps file. Puis survient un choc qui les obligera à quitter leur monde et à affronter l’inconnu. Dans cette quête, leurs mondes se croisent; mots, musique, danse et mouvements

s’entremêlent au slam pour nous raconter une histoire particulièrement actuelle et percutante. La Grande Cueillette des mots de l’Estrie est une création professionnelle qui émerge de la parole de plus de 400 jeunes estriennes et estriens.

Five strangers live in their own worlds. Each day, their routine perpetually repeats. Some are happy, others are not. Time goes by. Then an event will force them to leave their worlds and to be confronted with the unknown. In this quest, their worlds meet; words, music, dance and movement are intertwined in “slam” to recount a current and stirring tale. La grande cueillette des mots de l’Estrie is a professional creation built from the words of over 400 young people from the Eastern Townships.

Figure emblématique de la danse au Québec, Benoît Lachambre signe ici une pièce forte empreinte de ses influences multiples acquises au cours des trente dernières années.

Rémi Bolduc présente son album Random Masters. Inspiré par le phénomène du hasard dans la génétique, ce nouvel opus s’inscrit dans la lignée d’un nouveau style qui combine la complexité rythmique de certains groupes du mouvement MBase à la richesse harmonique de musiciens tels que Wayne Shorter et Billy Strayhorn. Le disque fut salué par la critique à sa sortie. « Les jazzophiles seront séduits par la vivacité des patterns rythmiques, par la finesse des trajectoires mélodiques, les choix harmoniques, la qualité de l'interaction et les interventions individuelles. » (Alain Brunet, La Presse) Avec Rémi Bolduc (sax alto, direction et composition), Chet Doxas (sax ténor), JeanNicolas Trottier (trombone), Rafael Zaldivar (piano), RémiJean Leblanc (basse électrique et contrebasse) et Richard Irwin (batterie).

This new, original music project from sax player Rémi Bolduc is directly influenced by the music of Steve Coleman and his MBase collective. Rhythmically complex, the music is also harmonically rich, a combination of Coleman’s rhythmic influences and Wayne Shorter and Billy Strayhorn harmonies. Rémi decided to use “random” as a starting point in these new compositions, so the musical metres of the pieces were randomly generated by a computer program creating a series of numbers from atmospheric sounds. For this very personal project, Rémi chose to play with some of the young upcoming jazz players on the Montreal Jazz scene. Collaborating with these young musi cians gave him the inspiration to write music that is both different and more appropriate to this parti cular group. Other than Rémi Bolduc on alto sax, the musicians of the Random Masters group are: Chet Doxas on tenor sax , JeanNicolas Trottier on trombone, RémiJean Leblanc on electric bass, with Rafael Zaldivar on the piano and Rich Irwin on drums.

Born in Sudbury, Ontario to Peruvian parents, Patricia Cano is the incarnation of South American warmth and generosity. With a voice smooth, intense and a little sweet, Patricia Cano is an artist mature beyond her years and incredible to behold. Her highly anticipated debut album, This is the New World, is influenced by traditional South American folk forms, including Samba and AfroPeruvian rhythms, and driven by the groove of jazz, the soul of folk and blues.

Sensuous and romantic ballads, fantasies and coy waltzes, Jill Barber’s latest release, Chansons, glorifies the language of love in majestic fashion. At the top of Canada’s jazz charts in February 2013, Chansons continues to rise in the hearts of French and English Quebecers. This wonderful artist, who hails from the Maritimes, leads us into the realm of 20th century Paris with the accent, the tone, and just the right amount of subtlety. Whether singing Aznavour, Gainsbourg or Piaf, her style portrays the ideal ambiance of love one looks for when visiting the City of Lights. Accordion, clarinet, violin and acoustic guitar complement Barber’s charm.

Avec son cinquième album en carrière, Into the Sun, David Myles est prêt à conquérir tous les publics. Dirigé par la flûtiste Claire Guimond, Arion, toujours d’une vivacité et d’une fougue sans borne, est branché sur l’énergie créatrice des compositeurs baroques. La preuve en sera faite avec ces interprétations de Bach (Concerto brandebourgeois no 5, Suite en si mineur no 2) et de Telemann (Concerto en mi mineur pour flûte et flûte à bec, Suite en la mineur pour flûte à bec, cordes et basse continue). L’orchestre, qui partira en tournée européenne avec ce concert, sera composé des violonistes Chantal Rémillard et Tanya LaPerrière, de l’altiste Ellie Nimeroski, de la violoncelliste Amanda Keesmaat, du contrebassiste Dominic Girard, du claveciniste Hank Knox, du luthiste Sylvain Bergeron et de la « découverte de l’année 2012 » aux Prix Opus, le flûtiste Vincent Lauzer.

C’est toujours la fête avec Roberto López. Son nouveau Azul, récolte les louanges de nos critiques de musique du monde québécois : « Roberto signe un disque original, subtilement rétro, brillant tonifiant et dont l’intérêt croît sans cesse après chaque écoute.. (Yves Bernard, Le Devoir) ou encore : « Ce diable de López et sa bande réussissent un miracle avec des compositions originales comme Blue Vallenato, où la tradition champêtre nostalgique marie le blues urbain universel d’un big band. Bravo! » (Ralph Boncy, Voir). Compositeur et guitariste d’origine colombienne, Roberto López invite avec ce nouvel et troisième album à un voyage envoûtant sur fond de rythmes afrocolombiens qui vont du porro à la cumbia en passant par le paseo, la champeta, le malapé et le chandé. Arrangements teintés de jazz et de funk pour des sonorités chaudes et des rythmes endiablés.

Led by flutist Claire Guimond, the Arion Orchestra, known for its vivacious and spirited performances, draws inspiration from the creative energy of baroque composers. Proof will be given with a concert featuring Bach’s “Brandenburgh Concerto No. 5"and the "Suite in B minor No. 2", as well as Télémann’s "Concerto in E minor for Flute and Recorder” and the "Suite in A minor for Flute, Strings and Continuo.” Preparing for a European tour with this programme, the orchestra will include Chantal Rémillard and Tanya LaPerrière on violin, Ellie Nimeroski on viola, Amanda Keesmaat on cello, Dominic Girard on double bass, Hank Knox on harpsichord, Sylvain Bergeron on the lute, and Opus Prize winner as “new artist of 2012”, Vincent Lauzer on flute.

Junonominee Roberto López and his AfroColombian Orchestra bring you Azul complete with a twist of funk and jazz on traditional pieces and on the leader’s most recent instrumental compositions. Montrealbased Colombianborn composer and multiinstrumentalist Roberto López, along with his virtuoso friends, leads us to a unique encounter between the wind ensembles of Colombia’s Caribbean coast and NorthAmerican Jazz Big Bands. « After the Latin urban grooves, Roberto creates a new orchestra, submerged on the roots of the instrumental orchestras deep in Colombia, and he mixes it with the spirit of the jazz big bands. He signs an album that is original, subtly rétro, brilliant, sharp and where the listener’s interest grows after each listen.” (Yves Bernard, Le Devoir)

L’année 20122013 aura été remplie d’émotions pour PaulAndré Fortier. Après avoir été nommé Officier de l’Ordre du Canada, il recevait la Bourse de carrière du Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec. « Dans Vertiges, le chorégraphe renoue avec la danse pure qui ne doit son sens qu’à la seule urgence intime du mouvement, à sa capacité renouvelée de se propulser sur les planches en trouvant une écriture singulière et juste. Vingt ans qu’ils sillonnent le monde avec leurs chants festifs (maki ghili) et leurs chants lents (laki ghili) remplis d’émotion. Un répertoire qui s’étend de l’Europe centrale au nord de l’Inde via les Balkans. Des textes touchants, de la poésie magique et de la musique envoûtante. Avec violons, clarinette, flûte, saxophone, cymbales, contrebasse, percussions et voix, Urs Karpatz a tout pour enchanter le public le plus récalcitrant.

They sing in the language of the Romanian people, Romanès. Led by the friendly Dimitri, the polyphonic and polyrhythmic ensemble was founded in 1993. Urs Karpatz has been travelling the world for the past 20 years with their festive songs (maki ghili) and highly emotional slow chants (laki ghili). With a repertoire that extends from Central Europe to Northern India by way of the Balkans, their performances are enhanced by touching words, magical poetry and enchanting music. Violin, clarinet, flute, saxophone, cymbals, accordion, double bass, percussions and voice: this is the bevy of instruments that will no doubt charm the most skeptical of audiences.

Née à New York mais élevée à Montréal, Martha Wainwright peut se targuer d’être issue de deux cultures. Elle les explore et les exploite de la plus belle façon, avec sa voix chaude et unique, ses textes provocateurs ou cajoleurs. En font foi ses derniers opus, l’album Come Home to Mama, livré après la mort de sa mère Kate McGarrigle, précédé de Sans fusil ni souliers, son disque Piaf, et suivi par la trame sonore de l’émission télévisée Trauma. C’est en 2005 que la carrière de Martha a vraiment pris son envol, grâce à un album éponyme salué par la critique. Avec Come Home to Mama, on retrouve ce sentiment d’angoisse passionnée qui traversait alors ses chansons. Cet album représente le point culminant de ses expériences de vie jusqu’à maintenant. Il a été enregistré au studio de Sean Lennon.

Fantaisie, invention et audace sont au rendez vous encore une fois, pour le bonheur des petits et des grands. Le décor est dépouillé, sauf pour quelques éléments de mobilier d’enfants (petites chaises, petites tables, banc et jouets mécaniques). Une aire de jeu où le réel joue à cachecache avec l’illusion. Un régal !

Torontois né à Paris, Jesse Cook s’est hissé au sommet des palmarès dès 1995 alors qu’il lançait l’album Tempest. Depuis, le succès n’a cessé d’être au rendezvous. C’est le cas ici pour The Blue Guitar Sessions, son huitième album studio, qui s’est retrouvé en sixième place du palmarès de l’émission radio Echoes, diffusée par 130 stations des ÉtatsUnis. Le programme de la soirée comprendra des musiques de cet album, de même que les succès antérieurs.

And so it continues with The Blue Guitar Sessions, his eighth studio album, reaching no.6 on the Echoes Radio show, broadcast on 130 stations across the United States. Pour y arriver, ils utilisent un vocabulaire dansé inédit, imprévisible et consistant. Ils explorent la culture japonaise populaire en la personnifiant et en la caricaturant, parfois en s’amusant à devenir des personnages de dessin animé, et se révèlent l’un à travers les yeux de l’autre. Le tout sur des musiques du percussionniste expérimental japonais Asa Chang. Out Innerspace Dance Theatre est une compagnie de Vancouver qui crée des œuvres novatrices et accessibles et repousse les limites de l’esthétique et des formes classiques avec une puissance créatrice sans réserve. Ayant grandi à Whitehorse au Yukon, Ivan Coyote est l’auteure de six recueils de contes, d’un roman, de trois disques et de quatre courts métrages, en plus d’être une performeuse reconnue. Elle a participé à de nombreux festivals de contes et de spoken word, d’Anchorage à Amsterdam. Elle a travaillé avec de nombreux musiciens, notamment Veda Hille, Dan Mangan, Rae Spoon et Lyndell Montgomery. En plus de son travail d’écriture et d’enseignement, Ivan sillonne l’Amérique du Nord et l’Europe, dans les festivals, mais également en milieu scolaire et pour des regroupements d’activistes, de trans sexuels, de personnes en démarche d’alphabétisation et d’aînés. Elle croit au pouvoir transformateur du conte ainsi qu’à la collecte et à la transmission des mémoires orales comme moyens de préserver nos racines. Parce qu’une bonne histoire peut nous inspirer à inventer un avenir meilleur.

Raised in Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, performer Ivan Coyote is the author of six collections of short stories, one novel, three CDs, and four short films. She has participated in numerous spoken word and storytelling festivals from Anchorage to Amsterdam. Ivan is fascinated by the intersection of storytelling and music, and has worked with a number of musicians including Veda Hille, Dan Mangan, Rae Spoon and Lyndell Montgomery. In addition to her literary and teaching accomplishments, Ivan continues to tour extensively throughout North America and Europe telling stories not only to festival audiences but to high school students, social justice activists, transsexuals autoworkers, adult literacy students and senior citizens all across the continent. Ivan believes in the transformative power of storytelling, and that collecting and remembering oral history not only preserves a vital part of our families and where we come from but can help inspire us to reinvent a better future.

An actress, author, composer and performer hailing from Mali, Fatoumata Diawara presently lives in France. Before embarking on an extensive musical career, she worked in film, mostly in France. In 2011 Fatoumata was invited by Seck to record her first album. Laureate of the Honens Prize in 2012, Russian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov gave his first recital in 2007. He has performed as a soloist or collaborative pianist in countries around the world, including Russia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Ukraine and the United Kingdom. For his first appearance at Centennial, Mr. Kolesnikov will play works by Russian composers.

We were first introduced to Anne Plamondon during her striking performances with the RUBBERBANDance Group and her close colla boration with Victor Quijada. Now she embarks on a bold solo, her first, on the theme of mental illness. In collaboration with actress, writer and director Marie Brassard, she superimposes realities, presenting an almost panoramic vision of the subject matter. Trained at the Grands Ballets Canadiens, Anne found her way to contemporary dance through the hip hop works of RUBBERBANDance. A wonderful dancer in her own right, she now creates a work of great artistic sensibility where she invites us, body and mind, into a poetic dance theatre performance to take a look at these disturbing mental states “with the same eyes as you,” (les mêmes yeux que toi).

Magie et talent éclaboussent les tableaux de cette œuvre presque cinématographique où l’action se conjugue aux mouvements signifiants des danseurs. La blancheur des personnages costumés fait contraste avec la noirceur du sujet. Subtile plan après plan, Crystal Pite nous intrigue du début à la fin. Based on motifs from Shakespeare’s epic play, awardwinning Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite stages a game of revenge and forgiveness, reality and imagination in this magical narrative retelling. A theatrical sensibility complements the mastery of the dancers – their fluidity heightening the dramatic articulation of the plot. Swathed in white light, shadows abounding, with music composed by longtime collaborator Owen Belton and a film montage by Jamie Nesbitt, Pite’s latest work is a startling innovation.

Mamou est une petite ville de Louisiane qui a vu grandir Riley, leader du quintette et gagnant, avec son groupe Courtbouillon, d’un Grammy pour le meilleur album de musique traditionnelle régional en 2013. Reconnu comme meilleur accordéoniste cajun, il s’entoure ici d’un guitariste, d’un violoniste, d’un bassiste et d’un batteur pour produire la musique la plus entraînante qui soit. Un regain pour le printemps !

Né en Israël, Shai Maestro a commencé ses études en piano à l’âge de 5 ans et a écouté ses premières notes de jazz à 8 ans, sur un disque d’Oscar Peterson. Installé à New York dans les années 2000, il y a joué avec des musiciens de la trempe d’Ari Hoenig et de Gilad Hekselman. Il s’est fait remarquer en jouant aux côtés d’Avishai Cohen de 2006 à 2010, année où il décide de faire son chemin avec son propre trio, composé du bassiste Jorge Roeder et du percussionniste Ziv Ravitz. La chimie entre eux est si naturelle qu’il était normal de former ce trio, ditil. Maestro se considère d’abord comme un compositeur, mais son jeu pianistique est tel qu’on ne peut qu’être renversé.

The other two members of the trio, Israeli drummer Ziv Ravitz and Peruvian bassist Jorge Roeder, also reside in NY. "The connection among the three of us was so strong that we naturally became a band," says Maestro.

Installée au Canada, la jeune pianiste est très active auprès des jeunes, toujours prête à donner des classes de maître. Son vaste répertoire va du baroque au contemporain.

For her inaugural performance at Centennial Theatre, Canadian singer Sarah Slean brings music from her latest album, Land & Sea. In Sarah's words, "Land is a celebration of all that is worldly and temporal; the human dramas we participate in, the struggles, the unusual, at times uncomfortable wonder of being a separate, individual consciousness. Sea emerges from that within us which is eternal... the sense of a timeless unified consciousness.

Gold, ce sont les Variations Goldberg de Bach, telles que jouées par Glenn Gould, que l’on voit d’ailleurs sur film à quelques reprises durant cette chorégraphie d’Hélène Blackburn et de Pierre Lecours. Une chorégraphie tout ce qu’il y a de plus enlevée et enlevante, ludique, vivante, belle à regarder et à entendre. Fantaisie, invention et audace sont au rendez-vous encore une fois, pour le bonheur des petits et des grands. Le décor est dépouillé, sauf pour quelques éléments de mobilier d’enfants (petites chaises, petites tables, banc et jouets mécaniques). Une aire de jeu où le réel joue à cache-cache avec l’illusion. Un régal !

For children aged 8 to12. Baby Paul is born amid great confusion; Little Paul quickly grows larger and larger, becoming huge, gargantuan and monstrous. In his mind, “to have” is “to be”, so he swallows everything he can lay his hands on: computers, house, father and mother. Alphonsine, his cure-all aunt, will try to save him, but on one condition: He must promise to stop eating for the sake of eating. Will the unruly Paul finally listen?

Après avoir conquis les spectateurs des Coups de Théâtre dans la capitale nationale avec Clip !, le très talentueux Philippe Trépanier, notamment créateur de L’Impro Cirque, s’amène pour la première fois au Centennial. Premier one-man show clownesque de Trépanier, Clip ! met en vedette un zigoto maladroit comme pas un, dont les gaffes et gaucheries donnent lieu à des situations hilarantes. Muni d’une caméra et d’un micro, il exploite aussi le multimédia avec une redoutable efficacité. Mise en scène par Yves Dagenais, mieux connu sous le nom d’Omer Veilleux, la performance a tout pour séduire petits et grands. Crampant !

A show for ages 4 and up. Having charmed audiences at the Coups de Théâtre Festival in Quebec City with Clip!, the highly talented clown and creator of L’Impro Cirque, Philippe Trépanier, makes his inaugural appearance at Centennial Theatre with his first one-man show. La Galerie d’art Foreman de l’Université Bishop’s se consacre à la présentation de l’art et de ses discours ainsi qu’à l’exploration de la diversité culturelle. Les objectifs de la Galerie d’art sont atteints à travers une programmation d’expositions d’art contemporain et actuel par des artistes professionnel. Ces expositions ont pour but de susciter la curiosité et le débat public à propos d’enjeux culturels et sociaux et de revisiter l'histoire. Par le biais de son LABORATOIRE D’ART COMMUNAUTAIRE, l’institution cherche à redéfinir les limites du travail muséal en abordant, à travers des projections de films, des groupes de discussion, des ateliers et des présentations, divers sujets qui concernent tant les artistes que les visiteurs de la galerie.

The Foreman Art Gallery of Bishop's University is committed to art presentation and discourse, as well as the exploration of diversity of culture. The Gallery achieves its goals through its programming of exhibitions of contemporary and current art by professional artists. These exhibitions are presented with the objective of generating curiosity, revisiting history, and provoking public debate on cultural and social issues. Through its COMMUNITY ART LAB it seeks to redefine the limits of museum work by engaging with issues common to artists and gallery visitors through films, discussion groups, workshops and presentations.
