Bienvenue

L’Association canadienne de recherche en santé au travail et l’École de santé publique et des populations

de l’Université de Colombie-Britannique sont ravis de vous accueillir au congrès ACRST2018, le principal

congrès canadien consacré à la recherche en santé au travail.

Tous les deux ans depuis la création de l’ACRST en 2001, ses congrès réunissent des scientifiques, des

étudiants et stagiaires, des praticiens de la santé et de la sécurité au travail, des épidémiologistes, des

cliniciens et des décideurs politiques. Les réunions de l’ACRST sont interdisciplinaires et visent à faire

avancer la recherche en favorisant le partage de connaissances, les partenariats de recherche et le transfert

des connaissances pour la prévention et la gestion des accidents et maladies professionnelles.

Le congrès 2018 est le 10ième rassemblement biennal de l’ACRST. Il s’appuie sur le succès du congrès

2016 à Toronto, Ontario, et des congrès antérieurs pour offrir un programme stimulant et diversifié

de présentations invitées, de panels et de sessions parallèles et d’affiches. Le programme, élaboré par

le comité scientifique ACRST 2018 avec le soutien de l’ACRST et de l’École de santé publique et des

populations de l’Université de Colombie-Britannique, reflète l’excellence de la recherche en santé au travail

au Canada.

Nous avons prévu plusieurs occasions pour faciliter les échanges entre chercheurs au cours du congrès,

notamment une réception de bienvenue, un banquet et l’assemblée générale annuelle de l’ACRST. Nous

espérons que vous apprécierez le congrès ainsi que tout ce que Vancouver a à offrir durant votre séjour.

Nous avons prévu plusieurs occasions pour mettre en contact les chercheurs au cours de la conférence,

notamment une réception de bienvenue, un dîner de gala et une assemblée générale annuelle de l’ACRST.

Andrew Clarke

Dr. Andrew Clarke a grandi à Vancouver et a étudié la chimie à l’Université de Stanford et la médecine à l’Université de la Colombie-Britannique. Il a fait sa formation postdoctorale en Ontario et a exercé la médecine du travail en privé à Toronto pendant 22 ans. En 2008, il est retourné à Vancouver pour diriger le Physician Health Program de C-B, poste qu’il occupe depuis. Les intérêts de recherche d’Andrew concernent le domaine des interventions organisationnelles (en milieu de travail) destinées à faciliter le retour au travail et à réduire les conflits en milieu de travail. Il s’est notamment concentré sur les effets des problèmes de santé mentale courants sur les personnes diagnostiquées et sur leurs collègues.

Toby Desnomie

Toby Desnomie est le fondateur, président et chef de la direction de la Saskatchewan First Nations Safety Association, ET fondateur et président national de la Canadian First Nations Safety Association. Toby est Nehiyaw de la nation crie de Peepeekisis sur le territoire du traité n ° 4. Il travaille aux côtés des communautés des Premières Nations en tant que technicien, gestionnaire et consultant depuis plus de 20 ans. Toby a reçu le prix SHSA 2016 du leadership en matière de sécurité pour son leadership exceptionnel en matière de santé et de sécurité. L’éducation et la carrière de Toby reflètent véritablement son parcours vers la sensibilisation et des communautés sécuritaires.

Lori Guiton

Lori Guiton est directrice de la Division des politiques, de la réglementation et de la recherche à WorkSafeBC. Elle est responsable de l’élaboration des politiques et de la réglementation dans les domaines de la santé et la sécurité au travail, de l’indemnisation, des maladies professionnelles et des évaluations de l’employeur. Lori est également responsable du programme de recherche de WorkSafeBC. Ce département soutient la recherche sur la santé, la sécurité et l’indemnisation des accidents du travail et le transfert des connaissances issues de la recherche.

Dr. Vicki Kristman est professeur associée au département des sciences de la santé de l’Université Lakehead et première directrice du nouvel Institut de recherche de l’Université Lakehead: EPID @ Work – Enforcing the Prevention of Injury and Disability @ Work. Elle occupe également des postes à l’École de médecine du Nord de l’Ontario et à l’Institute for Work and Health à Toronto. Elle est titulaire d’un doctorat en épidémiologie et a suivi le programme de formation stratégique des IRSC en Prévention d’incapacité au travail en tant que post-doctorante au University Health Network à Toronto. En 2014, elle a reçu le prestigieux prix du nouveau chercheur des IRSC pour son programme de recherche sur « La prévention de l’invalidité professionnelle par l’adaptation ». Elle dirige actuellement des projets visant à tester l’efficacité d’un programme de formation de superviseurs visant à prévenir les incapacités de travail prolongées. identifier les facteurs associés au travail, à la santé et à la sécurité des Autochtones, et à déterminer les facteurs associés au soutien des superviseurs à fournir des aménagements de travail aux travailleurs atteints de problems de santé mentale.

Nancy Lightfoot

Dr. Nancy Lightfoot est une épidémiologiste ayant un B. Sc. (Microbiologie), une M. Sc. (Microbiologie), et dun octorat (Santé communautaire - épidémiologie) de l’Université de Toronto. Elle est professeure titulaire et coordonnatrice des études supérieures du programme de maîtrise en Santé interdisciplinaire de l’École de santé dans les milieux ruraux et du nord de l’Université Laurentienne. Elle mène des recherches quantitatives, qualitatives et avec des méthodes mixtes. Son expérience de recherche comprend des travaux sur plusieurs grandes cohortes minières de travailleurs du nickel et de cuivre-zinc, des études cas-témoins sur le cancer de la prostate, sur les impacts des incendies de forêt sur les communautés, une expérience communautaire en matière de santé et de sécurité au travail chez les autochtones, de satisfaction quant aux soins reçus en lien avec la survie aux maladies cardiaques congénitales, et l’impact du cancer du poumon lié au travail minier chez les soignants, etc. Elle est une scientifique affiliée au Centre de recherche sur le cancer professionnel de Action Cancer Ontario et a participé à plusieurs comités d’évaluation par les pairs de demandes de subventions axées sur l’activité professionnelle. Elle enseigne les méthodes d’évaluation critique et de recherche aux étudiants à la maîtrise et au doctorat (doctorat interdisciplinaire en santé dans les milieux ruraux et du nord) et supervise des étudiants de deuxième et troisième cycles.

Alex McKeen

Alex McKeen est journaliste à la section Work and Wealth du journal Star Vancouver, qui traite d’un éventail de problèmes qui ont un impact sur les travailleurs et les employeurs dans l’économie du XXIe siècle. Elle aime utiliser les données pour raconter comment le travail évolue, tout en essayant de perfectionner ses compétences en utilisation des données afin de rester pertinente au fur et à mesure de l’évolution de son domaine.

Jeannie Morgan

Dr. Jeannie Morgan est maître de conférences au département d’études sur les Premières nations de l’Université Simon Fraser. Elle est une chercheuse qualitative autochtone qui a obtenu un doctorat en sociologie à l’Université de la Colombie-Britannique. Pour sa thèse, elle a utilisé des méthodologies critiques autochtones et féministes pour explorer la manière dont les femmes autochtones font face aux demandes concurrentes du travail saisonnier à temps partiel dans les conserves de saumon et de leur famille, ainsi que les effets de cette dynamique sur le bien-être des femmes et des familles. Elle cumule plus de 20 ans d’expérience de travail avec les communautés des Premières Nations des secteurs public et privé. Ses projets de recherche passés, actuels et futurs témoignent de sa détermination à examiner les problèmes sociopolitiques importants liés aux intersections de l’indigénéité, du genre, de la santé et du bien-être. Cette éthique a été exercée dans ses expériences de recherche, y compris son travail de militante universitaire auprès de Vancouver Status of Women, ainsi que son implication dans la recherche avec le projet

La mère, la soeur ou la fille de quelqu’un, par le biais de l’Université de Victoria, qui ont résulté en des publications révisées par des pairs dans Hypatia et Violence Against Women et ont étudié la couverture médiatique canadienne des femmes disparues et assassinées dans l’Ouest canadien. Elle travaille actuellement sur un article qui examine le bien-être économique en tant que déterminant de la santé des travailleurs précaires autochtones.

Lisa Ross-Rodriguez

Dr. Lisa Ross-Rodriguez est directrice de la Section de la prévention des maladies et des accidents du travail au ministère du Travail. La Dre Ross-Rodriguez est titulaire d’une maîtrise et d’un doctorat en sciences médicales de l’Université de l’Alberta. Son rôle au gouvernement consiste à faciliter les collaborations en mettant l’accent sur la recherche, la surveillance, l’informatique et l’évaluation, de façon à faciliter la prise de décisions politiques éclairées par des données probantes en matière de prévention des maladies professionnelles et des traumatismes. Afin de renforcer les capacités en matière de connaissances, Dre Ross-Rodriguez s’efforce de nouer des liens avec des chercheurs et des partenaires et de mettre en commun des ressources en visant la réduction ou l’élimination des maladies et des lésions professionnelles. Elle se passionne également pour le bien-être et le développement d’une culture du travail positive grâce au mentorat et à l’encadrement.

Ian Shaw

Ian Shaw a fourni des conseils juridiques et de gouvernance et une planification stratégique de confiance à deux des plus importantes agences publiques de la C.-B. pendant 15 ans. En 2015, il a été nommé vice-président principal et avocat général de WorkSafeBC. Il conseille sur les questions juridiques, politiques, réglementaires et commerciales connexes. Ian a précédemment travaillé chez ICBC, en tant qu’administrateur dans trois divisions de sinistres différentes avant de devenir avocat général.Ian est titulaire d’un MBA en gestion stratégique de la Sauder School of Business de la UBC et de la Manchester Business School. Il a été membre du conseil d’administration de la McLaren Housing Society of BC, dirigeant prêté à Centraide et chef de groupe dans une clinique d’entraînement de marathon.

L’ACRST est une association à but non lucratif regroupant des chercheurs canadiens dont le travail consiste

d’abord à étudier la prévention ainsi que la gestion des maladies, de l’invalidité et des blessures liées aux

activités et aux environnements de travail. Fondée en 2001 à Montréal, Québec, l’ACRST a pour mission

d’accroître et promouvoir la recherche sur la santé, la sécurité, et le bien-être au travail au Canada, et de

recommander des recherches sur la modification des activités et des environnements professionnels de

façon à améliorer la santé, la sécurité et le bien-être des Canadiens.

Peut devenir membre de l’ACRST quiconque se définit comme chercheur en santé au travail au Canada.
