Creative Reading 가이드 Creative Reading이란? CR(Creative Reading)이란 April Textbook의 주제와 연계된 책 읽기를 통하여 배경 지식을 확장하고, 다양한 독후 활동을 통해 사고력 및 표현력을 개발합니다. 매월 4권의 책을 읽고 독서 노트를 활용한 Book Report 작성, 온라인을 통한 간단한 문제 풀이, 수업시간에 미니북 만들기, 포스터 또는 브로셔 만들기 등 다양한 활동을 통해 자신의 생각을 표현하게 됩니다. CR을 통한 새로운 지식! 같은 주제 안에서 다양한 책을 통해 풍부한 지식을 얻을 수 있습니다. 예를 들어 April Textbook에서는 춤의 역사와 다양성에 대해 배웠다면 CR에선 춤추는 게 가장 행복한 한 남자아이에 대해 읽게 됩니다. 한 레벨을 끝내면 Gallery Book의 글을 제외하고도 총 24권의 책을 읽습니다. 영어 도서관을 매주 가는 것보다 쉽고, 같은 주제로 배우니 효과적입니다. CR 온라인 학습 CR 온라인 학습은 c-book/e-book으로 구성되어 있습니다. c-book은 CR book과 동일 책이고 e-book은 추가로 하는 책입니다. 각 책에 해당하는 학습을 2주간 학습 할 수 있습니다.

Warm up 책의 주요 내용에 해당하는 문장들이 Sentence Study에서 제공됩니다. 이 문장들을 듣고 주어진 뜻을 확인 함으로써 Reading전에 필요한 주요 내용을 파악합니다. Reading 각 페이지의 이미지를 보면 그 페이지 글을 이해하는 데 많은 도움이 됩니다. Build up 문제를 풀다 어려우면 Hint의 페이지 번호를 확인하여 해당 페이지를 읽고 문제를 다시 풀어보세요.

온라인 CR 학습의 예 - 주3회(수금월) 수업 기준

* c-book에 해당하는 학습은 CR 수업 전에는 Warm up 과 Reading을 예습으로, Build up은 복습으로 진행하는 것이 가장 효과적이므로 둘째 주 CR 수업 후에 진행하는 것을 추천해 드립니다.

에이프릴 청크북의 차별성 청크북에 포함된 모든 단어는 Oxford, Longman 등 다양한 선정 기준을 반영하여 해당 레벨에 적합하고 필수적인 단어들로 구성되었습니다. 이렇게 채택된 단어들을 확장하여 청크(Chunk)라는 의미 덩어리(몇 개의 단어가 자연스럽게 연결되어 구체적인 뜻을 나타내는 표현)로 학생들이 효율적으로 학습할 수 있게 개발된 학습서가 바로 청크북입니다.

학생들이 영어 단어를 재미있고 효율적으로 익힐 수 있도록 Vocab Game을 선보입니다! Vocab Game은 April Textbook에서 다루는 핵심 단어(key vocab)를 4종류의 게임을 통해 반복 학습을 할 수 있도록 구성하였습니다. 2013년 가을학기 10월 부터 베타 서비스를 시작하여 여러분에게 공개됩니다!!

학생 GATE Vocab Game Intro

1주에 2개 Lesson에 해당하는 스케줄이 오픈 되고, 각 레벨에 맞는 Vocabulary를 제공합니다. - Seed : 20개, Sprout : 25개, Sapling : 30개, Junior Master : 35개의 Vocabulary를 학습합니다 - 레벨에 따라 240 ~ 420개의 단어를 습득 할 수 있습니다. - 학생 GATE를 통해 Vocab Game을 접속할 수 있으며, 간단한 Intro와 함께 게임을 시작합니다.

Word Shooting

- 비나가 큐피를 구하기 위해 말을 타고 성으로 가는 스토리.

- 말을 타고 이동하면 단어의 뜻이 제시되고, 뜻과 매칭되는

과녁의 영어 단어에 화살을 쏴서 맞추는 형식의 게임.

The Gallery book is really good and the

practice book questions are also fun to do. I feel

great when I solve all of the practice book

questions correctly. Making new sentences with the

writing chunks makes me smarter and I love it

when the teacher’s sentences match my own.

To new April students I will say ‘Dear friends~ we

have big Smart TVs in April! There is no boring time

in the class – it is always fun! The teachers are

always fun, interesting and care about us. They

teach us kindly and explain things to us well. Using

our books, thinking projects and teachers you will

quickly become a global leader who speaks English

very well and has an open and creative mind that

was developed at April.’

Even though you may be in a lower level, do not

be sad. If you practice speaking English with your

teachers, you can level up quickly. When you look

back, you will see a lot of improvement –

especially when compared to other kids who don’t

go to April. I really love the flexibility that I get

when doing the creative thinking projects. The

teachers don’t tell us what to think and write during

this class, so I enjoy creating my own ideas and

projects. I am sure that you will also enjoy the

creative thinking project class as well.”

You must memorize and study hard for chunk book.

You must focus on listening and writing parts, too. Then

you can solve problems easily. Mileage is important for a

big market day. So, collect a lot of mileage.




I was embarrassed at first. It was

the desk teacher who suddenly took

me to the desk to take a picture of

myself for April Time. But, now I’m

very happy to have my picture on

April Times. I can’t wait to see my

picture on April Times! 고준혁(James)

I think CTP (Creative Thinking Project) is the most

interesting class. We can make scripts and film scenes.

Also, we make movies with our classmates. I think the

speaking part is fun, too. Because I can share my

opinion with classmates.

I didn’t know that I could get a

Golden Apple. It is a great honor

to have one. I think this Golden

Apple is a result of my effort. So

I’m very proud. Even after 5-10

years, I will not forget about this

Golden Apple. I will study hard

every day in April.


The thing I like the most is Creative Thinking

Project in April. We act and make a video in CTP class.

Sometimes, we do make mistakes, but we learn not to

repeat the same mistakes again. We have a close

friendship in my class.

When I came into April at first, I thought English

is very hard. I was tired because I had a lot of

homework. But as I repeated this studying, today I can

do it more easily than before. You are the same as me.

Don’t give up. You have to think about everything in

English.

It’s weird. One side, I feel good,

but in the other side, I feel very

strange. At first time, I pinched my

cheek, when I got my Golden

Apple badge. I couldn’t believe it.

But now I feel like getting the gold

medal at the Olympic.

The most fun thing is the CTP. It helps me improve

my writing and speaking skills. Also, I can share my

opinions with my friends. The acting is fun, too.

I started at Seedbed2 and now I’m in Junior Master2.

Like me, you all can be smarter than now. But you need

to put your effort and study harder. Then, someday, you

will study in Junior Master2 and write this letter to the

new students. Fighting!

To new April students I will say “Dear

friends~ There are different characteristics of all

of the April levels. You have to study hard when

you are in each level. April has two terms –

Winter and Summer term. We have events for

each term. In the first term, we have a speech

contest. In the second term, we have a spelling

bee and market day. The speech contest is

good to develop our speaking skills. Everyone

can participate and get a prize. I hope that you

can be whatever you want to be in the future.”

I really like the thinking projects because I need to

make a team, brainstorm together, plan together,

and then get a final result together. The gallery

book also looks great and the topics are great. The

practice book questions are really fun to solve with

the class.
