Boeing livre le premier AWACS modernisé à l'armée de
l'Air française

Le premier AWACS français modernisé
est de retour dans l'armée de l'air
française. "Conformément au calendrier
établi, Boeing a livré le 17 juillet le premier
des quatre avions AWACS français
modernisés, a annoncé mardi soir Boeing.
Cet appareil va permettre une nette
augmentation des capacités de la flotte
militaire française en matière de
surveillance, de communications et de
gestion des combats". L'appareil a été
livré à l'issue d'une campagne d'essais au
sol et en vol menée sur la base aérienne
d'Avord (Cher), et de sa qualification
prononcée par la direction générale de
l'armement (DGA). Boeing avait livré cet
appareil à la DGA en février. Le
programme de modernisation à mi-vie des
AWACS, ou système de détection et de
commandement aéroporté, permettra aux
équipages de disposer d'informations
davantage exploitables et d'une vision
plus complète de l'espace survolé, tout en
améliorant l'efficacité des missions
exécutées et l'efficience des avions.

BAE fights for more F-16
upgrade competitions

BAE Systems is looking to Greece,
Turkey and Chile as the next likely targets
for its assault into the market for upgrades
of legacy Lockheed Martin F-16 fighters.
John Bean, vice-president and general
manager global fighter programmes, says
BAE has already held discussions with
those nations, encouraging them to look
at other options apart from Lockheed for
upgrades.
“Right now we’re making sure they know
there is a choice,” he says. Another three
to four nations have also engaged in
preliminary talks, says Bean, although
declines to identify them. BAE to break
into the upgrade market in 2012 when it
won a contract to upgrade South Korea’s
KF-16s with new avionics, mission
systems and Raytheon’s RACR radar.
The first two aircraft, which are being used
for design and development work, were
recently inducted to its Alliance airport
facility in Fort Worth. They are expected to
be re-delivered...

condition opérationnelle des avions
Falcon 50 de la Marine Nationale. Huit
appareils sont concernés.
La valeur de ce contrat est de 108 429
322 euros (Hors TVA). Les Falcon 50 Mi
(Intervention) et Ms (Surveillance) de la
Marine Nationale sont des avions
triréacteurs supérieurs à 5,7 tonnes, selon
les termes de la réglementation civile.
Ces avions, issus de la version civile du
Falcon 50, ont reçu des modifications
spécifiquement militaires, à savoir
notamment le radar Ocean Master 100, la
trappe de largage (sur Falcon 50 Mi
uniquement) ou les hublots d'observation
pour les équipages.
Leurs missions principales sont la
surveillance maritime, la recherche du
renseignement, la recherche et le
