EVENING PERFORMANCE IN ANSEONG CITY

Professor Hancheol Hwang said to us to go the main road of the downtown and he also

told that we would see the amazing things.

I didnt expect anything. I went there only for sight seeing. I didnt know something

would enter my heart and my ideas would change with the amazing concepts that I never everforget.

In the evening, 30 September 2012, I surprised the amazing and wonderful scene seen on

the main street of the downtown. I am sure that its the one Ill never ever forget in my life. I can

say only two words: UNCOUNTABLE MANY.

Many faces

I have seen many faces of some different cultures in my life. However at that time, I saw

many faces at the same time continuously. Those were the amazingly surprised faces. Different

skin colors, unlike costumes, unalike words and a group of dissimilar people made my eyes wideand mouth open together as well as made a word come out from me; Oh My God!.Peoples

faces have different meaning according to their culture and country.

I cant guess my facial expression at that time. One drop of tear falls down from each of

my eyes. I didnt cry, I knew. But I have already known that tears are sometimes an expression of

happiness, seeing amazing thing and great pleasure. Therefore, my tears are an expression of

amazingly surprised things that I was seeing in front of me.

Many languages

Everybody knows people have different languages, but only somebody knows we have the

only same language, that is body language. I saw many manners of the body language. When one

country finished their performance, they waved their hands from left to right. I understood

automatically that they were saying: Goodbye. We are leaving. After waving their hands, they

continued their walking towards the destination. I saw every country involved in the festivalbehaved the same manner. Before I have already known that the waving hands means saying

goodbye, and now I saw the people expressed their waving hands to greet people at the first time.

Many smiles

Everybody all over the world, I think, can smile. It doesnt matter whether it isbeautiful ornot. Every smile is acceptable. I saw many smiles from different countries continuously. Its

amazing and surprising. However, all of the smiles are the same although people are different in

many things. Their smiles are sincere and comes from their hearts and, I knew, they wanted to

make me happy. They made me feel good inside. I enjoyed their smiles. The memory that I felt

good seeing smiles will last forever.

Many costumes

I have already known everyday dresses of all people. However, in the evening, I saw many

traditional dresses surprisingly. Many traditional costumes are not the same. We, people, are the

same in features. Everybody has two hands, two legs and one head as well as their position is

equally the same. But I cant imagine why our costumes are different. They also should be the

same. However, it depends on the locality, weather, environment and so on. Some dresses showpartly the body and others cover the whole body. I enjoyed their costumes happily.

Many Musical Instruments

Every music instrument produces seven rhythms: do, re, mi, fa, so, lar, and di. I know very

well piano, guiter, clarinet, trmpet and so on. In that time, I saw the strange instruments I have

never seen in my life before. Its so amazing and exiciting. I couldnt help myself not to take

photos. I took many photos on that evening. Every photo is amazingly wonderful.

Many Traditional Dances

There were many traditional dances on that evening. Different dances are beautiful with

different styles and different dresses. Some dances had the couple: man and woman and two

women, and others do group. Some used umbrella, flag, basket, plastic ring, and others did drum

and gong. On that evening, I got an idea that we all have the different traditional dances, however

we have the same happiness when we dance in the music with dissimilar styles.

Many different couple dances

All over the world, there are many different people, but when we think of the couples

everybody sees the same: man and woman. But on that day, the dancing couples had different

dresses and different styles. Some couple had baskets and others didnt have anything in their

hands. The age also was different among the couples.

Many different aged people

There is no word to say how amazing I was on that evening. There were a lot people

seeing and many people dancing. Those people involved many different aged people. From the

children to the old people, they were happily dancing and playing music instruments.

Many hand music

Until now, I know only clapping can be used when we call somebody, we indicate

approval of the performance and we congratulate ones success. In addition, I know that the finger

flipping can be used only when we call someone. On that evening, the amazing things were seen.

The clapping is a kind of dance and also the finger-flipping can be together with the dance. I

unconsciously understood that dancing means body movement according to the music. Therefore,you can move your body as you like, but your movement must be agreeable with the rhythm of

music.

Many Opa Gangnam Style

Nowadays, Opa Gangnam Style is very popular and famous. On that evening, I saw many

opa gangnam style. The amazing thing is only the old people are dancing.

Many Korea Musics

Korea has developed into a modern country. However, they never forget their traditional

things. There are many traditional musics in the country, Im sure. I saw some Korean traditional

music and modern music mixed with traditional also.

Many Korea traditional concepts

The Korean people never forget their traditional concepts. These photos show their

traditional ideas. For example, I saw the two things like in the first photo. They two are tied and

then pulled by people from the both sides as a competition. In our country, we have such kind of

action and we used when we call the rain because the rain is rare. If we do that action, the weather

is good for the crop cultivation in the whole year. In this case, I think Korean people made thisaction for the good weather.

FESTIVAL AREA

Many Good Plans

I surprised that Korean people take care of all of the people: the children, the young man,

the adult man, the old man and the disable man. In the festival area, there are Police, Lactation

Center, Center for lost children, Medical Aid Center, Food Safety Center, Stroller Rental,

Wheelchair Rental, Cloakroom, and other centers. There are also food court, resting area,restrooms, restaurants and so on. There are food, agriculture, traditional and market experience

places. For the children, there water spreading area and playing area. There are also beautiful

landscapes. They have a good plan and so can do systematically and neatly.

I saw many traditional foods of Korea. Korean people enjoy their traditional foods. I took

many photos about one kind of traditional foods;.

Many Industrial Developments

Korea has developed their country in many sectors. I surprised amazingly that Korea has

developed a machine for traditional food making. Many Korean people enjoyed this food. It is

made by machine. Thats the reason Is surprised. The name of the food is . means

sound and means fry. The food is made by machine and so the sound is heard when the food

slice is coming out from the machine after fried. It can be made from corn and bean. The taste is

delicious.

Many Rare Things

Korea has developed very much and rural area has been reduced. Some rural experience is

nearly lost in the country, I think. However Im sure that they are very rare nowadays due to the

development. Therefore, they showed on the festival for a young new generation. On the other

hand, they show it for a new generation to experience although there is some rural area in the

country.

Many Agricultural Experience

Korea has developed their rural area into urban land as well as they developed their

country by industry and so the agriculture sector is reduced. Therefore, people might not know

how to make rice, I think. During the festival, rice threshing and milling can be experienced. All

ages of people take the experience. I also took the experience on rice threshing.

Many Korean Traditional Rice

Korean food is a great source of energy, and rice is the staple food of Korea. The regular

white rice is cooked by pouring a certain amount of water and simmering. There are also

variations such as japgokbap, byeolmibap and bibimbap. In the festival, there was bibimbap

donation. I enjoyed it.

Many new-generation caring activities

Korean people take care of children very much. They have already known the children are

the future of the country. They dont also stay in theory and make it practically. There were many

new generations caring activities, I found at the festival.

Many peoples wishes

The interesting one is the place everybody can write a wish and place on the fence.

However everybody is making wish heartily.

Korean people are very lucky because they have many chances to see different cultures,

costumes, languages, and dances and also to make friends with people from different countries.

The young generation will have the international vision in life. They can think internationally.

When they are growing older, they can manage their country very well. Besides, the Korean

people dont forget their past to motivate their trying and their future to nurture a new generation

for their development and at the present , they are doing the best things.Therefore, the Korean

country has only the chance to develop more and more in the future. There might be nothing to

block their development.

In my conclusion, I have got much knowledge and experience from the festival. I will try

my best to develop myself first and then to develop my country like Korea in the future.
