Explore Chichester City and our District.The Novium, located in Tower Street, Chichester is due toopen late Spring 2012. This exciting new museum encouragesvisitors to explore the history within the City of Chichester andthe district, with displays of interesting artefacts andinteractive exhibits.
The Novium hosts a lively programme of events, walks andtalks, and the opportunity to view the recently uncoveredremains of a Roman bathhouse in situ and the Jupiter Stone, a piece of Roman sculpture base dated between the late firstand early third century AD.
Schools and Group Visits welcome.
Another interesting attraction is the Guildhall, a rare medievalsurvival in the heart of the City in Priory Park.

On street voucher parking is a method of paying for on street parking and operates:
Monday-Saturday, 9.00am-5.30pmVouchers cost 20p, 40p and 60p each and are available individuallyor in books of ten. They can be obtained from a wide variety ofoutlets throughout Chichester including the Tourist InformationCentre or where this sign is displayed.

Cattle Market Car ParkThis attractive car park servesthose travelling from the eastalong the A27 from Arundel. On Wednesdays and Saturdayspart of the car park is used by thebustling traders’ market.
Northgate Car ParkClose to the world famousFestival Theatre this car park ismost convenient for thosedriving from north of the Downs(Midhurst & Petworth area).

The parking charge is £1.20 per hour (20p per 10 minutes). The maximum length of stay is one hour.
Blue (Disabled) Badge holders are not subject to time limits orpayment when parked in a voucher parking bay. Motor cycles canbe parked without charge.
How it worksVoucher parking is simple – upon arrival scratch off five panels onthe parking voucher(s) to indicate your arrival time.
DAY, MONTH, DATE, HOUR, MINUTE (to next five minutes)
When using more than one voucher it is important to scratch offthe same time of arrival on all vouchers.
The vouchers should be displayed by folding the top edge of thevoucher(s) and hanging it/them inside the vehicle window facingthe nearest kerb and not overlapping.
• You are liable to receive a Penalty Charge Notice if you parkbeyond your selected parking period (maximum length of stayone hour) or if you fail to display a voucher correctly.
• Vouchers cannot be used in permit holder only parking places orin car parks.

Avenue de Chartres Car ParkThis award winning moderndecked car park is ideally locatedfor those approaching the Cityfrom the west, along the A27from Portsmouth or south fromBognor, the Witterings andSelsey. It is a light airy buildingwhich provides some of the bestviews of the Cathedral. Highlyrecommended for visitor parking.
Where to ParkVisitors to Chichester are encouraged to use the long stay carparks. These have plenty of spaces close to the heart of the Citywithin easy walking distance of the shopping centre and havethe lowest charges.
All of the car parks inChichester are within easywalking distance of the CityCentre. Generally we wouldrecommend that when visitingthe City, the Long Stay car parksare the best ones to use, theyhave the largest number ofspaces and lowest charges.
However, depending on thereason for your visit, you mayprefer to park elsewhere andthis leaflet identifies thoseplaces where car parking isavailable, together with thecharges that apply, under thefollowing headings:
Short Stay: is for those quickvisits under 3 hours
Long Stay: is for visits of 3 ormore hours
Voucher Parking: is for shortstay on street parking.
Vouchers can be purchasedfrom Council Offices, the TouristInformation Centre and retailoutlets displaying the vouchersign.
It is necessary to purchase aticket on arrival at all car parks.

Places of Interest and Visitor InformationThe Tourist Information Centre, currently located in SouthStreet, will move to the Novium in Tower Street late Spring 2012.Open Monday to Saturday (also Sunday and Bank HolidaysApril-Sept ), it has information on places to visit and stay,events in and around Chichester and sells a fine selection of souvenirs.
Westgate Leisure offers a wide range of sporting activitiesincluding three swimming pools, one with a 55m water slideand health and fitness facilities.
In the Cattle Market car park a large Traders’ Market is held onWednesdays and Saturdays. A thriving Farmers’ Market is heldin the City Centre pedestrian precinct every two weeks on aFriday between 9am and 2pm.

Parking for disabled badge holdersTo help people with disabilities gain easy access to the City,most pay and display car parks have specially allocated parkingspaces. These spaces, along with any others in the pay anddisplay car parks, can be used free of charge provided thevehicle is displaying a valid blue badge or foreign disabledbadge and the registered disabled person is driving or is apassenger. On street City Centre voucher parking spaces orspecially allocated spaces adjacent to the pedestrian area canbe used with no time limit or payment.
