Description Jean-Baptiste Cartier was a French violinist and composer living in Paris France in the late 18th

century Astudent of Corelli Cartier did not aim to be a soloist and seemed satisfied with his career

as an orchestral musician His major work was Lart du violon (Paris enlarged 3rd revised edition

c1803) This imposing volume contains a comprehensive selection of sonatas and single movements

composed by Italian French and German masters of the 17th and 18th centuries Cartier includes
