artist statement

I’m interested in the connection between real object and mental representation.An isolated electron is form free, sense free, then assembled with others becomes the reflecting surface of light that once in our retinas develops with the spirit an abstract universe that gives the matter meaning back - sort of envelope that qualifies the object. The concept of reality and abstract becomes then very porous.My work revolves around this thematic and takes the shape of sculptures with dried up surfaces or in contrast flowing like if the matter would liquefy to get ‘‘soul vapor’’.It seems interesting to me to draw the parallel with skin that contains those souls by shooting photos of it in a landscape style that stresses the arid and cracked aspect of this interface conver-sely able to sweat.I consider the tangible reality in a similar way : an interface between two abstractions that would only let flow its perceptible part. A ‘‘drop of reality’’ in the abstract ocean.

Born in 1988 in Saint-Étienne (France) where I live and work, Ido the dishwashing, extinguish fires, push stretchers, export fa-brics and recruit interim workers until 2010. From there, I get a waiter residence at the Art Gallery Café of NSW in Sydney (Aus-tralia) and then become carpenter in Toronto (Canada) until 2015. I decide then to start an artistic career to tidy a bit everything up.
