ON FOOT, BY BIKE OR MOTORCYCLE, IN CAR, COACH OR LORRY, ALONE OR WITH THE FAMILY, IN A GROUP OR WITH PETS; EACH PASSENGER TRAVELS IN HIS OR HER OWN PARTICULAR FASHION.
And each year, over 2,500,000 of these unique passengers made up
of diverse nationalities (but 85% British) put their confidence in us.
And it’s by exceeding the expectations of our passengers that we
allow them to live their journey differently.
An unrivalled culinary sea voyage: Brittany Ferries is an ambassador
for French gastronomy, inventive, refined and quality cuisine. And the
experience is special, with panoramic sea views, attentive service and
a sophisticated atmosphere. The journey is also about relaxation and
reflection. Our passengers’ holidays begin the moment they step on
board, where they can enjoy a range of services designed to ensure
the journey is a happy one, including beauty and relaxation treatments
for both men and women, and all designed to be in harmony with the
environment. At sea, choose from a relaxing and revitalising break,
or a rejuvenating one! On board our ships, every single passenger
is made to feel special!
LINKING FIVE DESTINATIONS - GREAT BRITAIN, IRELAND, SPAIN, PORTUGAL AND FRANCE - WE’RE COMMITTED TO GUIDING AND ACCOMPANYING OUR PASSENGERS WHEN THEY TRAVEL, OR TAKE A HOLIDAY.
Our expertise in promoting the rich and unique destinations we
serve has earned us an excellent reputation as a tour operator,
Brittany Ferries has once again been named « Best Cross-Channel
FerryOperator » in the Telegraph Travel Awards. But it’s not only by
luck that Brittany Ferries has become an acknowledged leader in
the market for holidays along the Atlantic arc. A French business
with a European vocation, but with its roots in Brittany, our maritime
company has a spirit of conquest in its genes, and savoir-faire
inherited from the traditions of the great liners. Our influence goes
far beyond the ports we serve: Brittany Ferries positions itself as
a facilitator for travel: we help our clients choose the very best
destinations, quality accommodation, cultural and leisure activities,
and tours - a real turnkey alternative to transport by air or rail.
And whilst travelling with Brittany Ferries is a distinctive way to
travel, because our passengers take their own car, it’s also a liberating
way to travel. There are no worries about baggage, no surcharges,
no problems with parking… Almost as soon as they arrive in our
convenient ports, our passengers find themselves onboard our
cruise-ferries. This is our idea of travel!
P O U R D E S P A S S A G E R S U N I Q U E S ! F O R U N I Q U E P A S S E N G E R S !

WITH ITS NUMEROUS MEDIUM-HAUL ROUTES, BRITTANY FERRIES OPERATES IN A RELIABLE AND PERENNIAL MANNER BETWEEN ITS FRENCH, BRITISH, IRISH AND SPANISH PORTS.
With 11 modern ships the company has become a major player in the European Ferry industry.
Brittany Ferries also offers freight businesses a real alternative to the road-only route. By
establishing solid and reliable ‘Motorways of the Sea’ between four directly-served countries, our
company has become a promoter of intermodal transport. In recent years, we have developed a
daily service between Great Britain and Spain, thereby completing our network of ‘Motorways of
the Sea’ serving the Atlantic Arc. By connecting people, regions and convictions, day by day we
live up to our commitment to promoting French excellence in Europe.
CREATED MORE THAN 40 YEARS AGO AS PART OF A BID TO OPEN UP BRITTANY TO THE WORLD, BRITTANY FERRIES HAS IN MANY WAYS SURPASSED ITS EARLIER AMBITIONS.
The company is a leading economic and social contributor, with
81% of its purchases, storing and maintenance operations benefiting
Brit tany, Normandy, the Pays de Loire and Ile de France. The
company’s activity indirectly supports 4,500 jobs. And besides the
direct employment of 2,500 workers, the Grand Ouest (western and
north-western France) enjoys the economic benefits of Brittany
Ferries’ clients visiting and staying in their regions. We thereby
contribute directly to the harmonious and durable development of
French territories.
Over the years, as it has connected an increasing number of ports
and regions, the company has bound together the Atlantic Arc by
facilitating the flow of people and goods between its territories.

BRITTANY FERRIES ENJOYS A UNIQUE BUSINESS CULTURE AND IDENTITY. CREATED IN 1973 ON THE INITIATIVE OF THE FARMING COOPERATIVES WHICH ARE THE MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS OF OUR COMPANY, WE HAVE MANAGED TO BRING TOGETHER THE ASSETS OF THE FARMING AND MARITIME WORLDS, ALLOWING US OVER THE YEARS TO NURTURE A UNIQUE AND ORIGINAL SERVICE, SUSPENDED BETWEEN LAND AND SEA.
Brittany Ferries plays a major role in responsible and durable
economic growth, whilst symbolising a living, future-facing heritage;
open towards Europe whilst creating shared wealth. For many years,
Brittany Ferries has practised a “clean sea” policy. Fast, powerful
and green, the latest generation of Brittany Ferries ships produces
10 per cent less CO2 than earlier vessels. The company’s engineers
demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the environment, for example
by optimising each ship’s propulsion plant to minimise energy
consumption or by employing special paints which are friendly to
the marine environment, and low sulphur fuels. By using methods
such as this, Brittany Ferries demonstrates its respect for and
commitment towards the environment. For a number of years now,
Brittany Ferries has been a major partner with several international
marine environmental projects. Scientists are invited on board, from
organisations such as Océanopolis and Roscoff Biological Station, as
well as Orca; a British organisation concerned with the preservation
of marine mammals. On board Armorique and Pont-Aven, a ferrybox
which monitors seawater in real time has also been installed.

BRITTANY FERRIES IS A MARITIME COMPANY BORN OUT OF A WISH TO OPEN UP THE REGION OF BRITTANY. AS EARLY AS 1967, THE COMPANY’S DYNAMIC PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER, ALEXIS GOURVENNEC AND EXPERTS AT CELIB (COMITÉ D’ÉTUDES ET DE LIAISON DES INTÉRÊTS BRETONS) AND SEMENF (SOCIÉTÉ D’ÉCONOMIE MIXTE DU NORD FINISTÈRE) TOGETHER LAID THE FOUNDATIONS FOR THIS CAMPAIGN.
In 1972, this plan led to the creation of BAI (Bretagne-Angleterre-
Irlande), a company with the aim of transporting Breton agricultural
produce overseas. In 1974, foreseeing the advent of mass Cross-
Channel passenger traffic, BAI adopted the name Brittany Ferries.
And then, in 1978 the company, whose ships fly the French Flag,
became a tour operator offering a range of self-drive holidays.
Brittany Ferries has followed a long-term strategy to become the
leading sea transporter on the western and central Channel, playing
a major role in the development of the Atlantic Arc, and bringing an
irreplaceable contribution to the regions it serves.
l’avenir. Brittany Ferries has been built up over time on solid foundations which will sustain it into the future
