SUBSTITUTIONS SUBSTITUTIONS

Il n’est pas nécessaire de faire une demande de substitution pour les pièces ou études qui font partie du programme d’un niveau supérieur à celui de l’examen, pour autant que celles-ci : • ne soient pas de plus d’un niveau supérieur • à celui de l’examen ; • soient jouées au complet. Si une pièce n’est pas préparée au complet, une demande de substitution doit être soumise. Pour chaque examen de violon, un maximum de deux demandes de substitution est autorisé.

Pieces and studies already listed in the syllabus at a higher examination level may be used as substitutions and do not require a substitution request. In these instances, substituted pieces: • must not be more than one level higher • than the examination level • must be performed in their entirety. If the piece is not performed in its entirety, a substitution request must be made. For each violin examination, there is a limit of two substitution requests per student.

EXIGENCES TECHNIQUES TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

L’indication de tempo pour chaque exigence technique correspond à la vitesse minimale à laquelle l’exercice doit être joué. Pour obtenir tous les points dans un examen de violon, les exigences techniques doivent être jouées de mémoire (sans partition). Une note de zéro sera donnée pour chaque exercice joué avec une partition. Les exigences techniques seront évaluées sur la base des critères suivants : • Maîtrise des gammes : excellente • connaissance des gammes exigées pour • l’examen • Justesse de l’intonation • Sens du rythme : tempo constant du début • à la fin de l’exercice • Qualité du son : richesse, clarté et projection • sonore • Tenue de l’instrument et posture : position • de la main, du poignet et du bras droits • assurant un bon contrôle de l’archet ; force • et vélocité de la main gauche ; posture • corporelle favorisant le jeu musical Les exigences techniques du programme d’études de violon 2003 seront aussi acceptées pour les examens en 2019.

Tempo markings provided for each technical requirement indicate the minimum tempo at which the exercise should be performed in the examination. To be eligible for all points in a violin examination, technical requirements must be performed from memory (without a score). A mark of zero will be given for each exercise played with a score.
