Audio Art: À Vancouver, G.-X. Jupitter-Larsen et Peter Grant animent la «Newsounds Gallery» tous les mardis à CFRO projet permanent: diffu­ser les travaux sonores qui se donnent en dehors du contex­te musical (fusion musique-non musique). Avec d'autres stations radiophoniques en Amérique du Nord et en Euro­pe, dont RZAB 104.5 à Bruxel­les d'où Guy Stuckens a lancé son «Radio Network», ils font circuler des contenus d'émis­sions issus de projets spécifi­ques. Projet passé: «Oral furni­ture». Projets en cours: quatre heures de sculptures sonores et auto/portrait sonore. Le ter­me «Audio Art» désigne l'usa­ge non musical des sons en contexte artistique, soit l'illus­tration graphique d'une idée ou d'un concept à partir de sons produits, fabriqués, trou­vés, transformés. Intégration de la musique concrète, du brutisme, de la poésie sonore dans l'usage asbtrait qu'elle fait des sons de la langue. Invention et usage non conven­tionnel d'instruments. Manipu­lations: collages sonores, mixa­ge, mise en boucle (sculpture sonore). Le téléphone et la radio en tant que source, maté­riau ou médium (phone-art, radio-art).
