RECONSTITUER L’HISTOIRE, DES MOTS AUX IMAGESIntervenant : Tian, auteur de L’Année du lièvre Modératrice : Anne-Laure Porée

Discussion avec l’illustrateur et auteur de bande-dessinée Tian autour du travail de reconstitution de son histoire familiale et de l’histoire du Kampuchea démocratique qu’il a mené pour L’Année du lièvre. Comment a-t-il recréé le quotidien, sur la base de quelles images, de quels récits ? Quels furent ses choix graphiques, notamment pour illustrer la pro-pagande khmère rouge ?

Durant son séjour au Cambodge, Tian présente également une exposi-tion autour de son travail à l’Institut français (voir page 34), et participe à des ateliers de bande-dessinée organisés en partenariat avec les ONG Sipar et Phare Ponleu Selpak.

A discussion with Tian about his research on his family history and on the history of Democratic Kampuchea for drawing L’Année du lièvre. How did he recreate daily life? Which images and which stories did he use? What have been his graphic options, for instance, when it comes to representing the Khmer Rouge regime?

Besides this conference, Tian also presents an exhibition at the French Isnti-tute (see page 34). He will also take part in a series of workshops organized in partnership with Ngos Sipar and Phare Ponleu Selpak.
