recently -een updated to i7pro?e the assess7ent o neonatal deaths and is soon to -e

utili5ed in large$scale population$representati?e ?er-alDsocial autopsy studies in se?eral

deaths in Britain 7ore than &0 years ago) is a long$accepted strategy or reducing 7aternal

7ortality. ore recently) 7aternal social autopsystudies that supported health progra77ing

ha?e -een conducted in se?eral de?eloping countries. Ero7 200& to 2009) 10 high$7ortality

states in 8ndia conducted co77unity$-ased 7aternal ?er-alDsocial autopsies ith

participatory data sharing ith co77unities and health progra7s that resulted in the

i7ple7entation o nu7erous data$dri?en 7aternal health inter?entions.Socialautopsy is a

poerul tool ith the de7onstrated a-ility to raise aareness) pro?ide e?idence in the or7

o actiona-le data and increase 7oti?ation at all le?els to tae appropriate and eecti?e
