Château BeaumontAside from the pertinence of the name, Château Beaumont offers wines that are classic instyle but also approachable. Both 2009 and 2010 were excellent vintages in Bordeaux. The 2009 offers more richness and fruit while the 2010 is more restrained. The 2006 is ina more classic style and is showing some maturity now.

Tenuta del l’Ornel laiaConsidered by many as the star of the Super Tuscan estates that turned their back on therestrictive Italian appellation regulations, Ornellaia’s vineyards were originally planted in1981 with the first wine being produced in 1985. Since then they have added to their rangeof wines with Le Volte, Le Serre Nuove and their Sauvignon Blanc Poggio alle Gazze. The estate also produces a Grappa – Eligo dell’Ornellaia.

Ridge VineyardsThe excellent reputation of Ridge was established by the Monte Bello’s unprecedentedsuccess in the 1976 Judgement of Paris tasting. Since then, head winemaker Paul Draperhas built on this reputation with the development of Geyserville and Lytton Springs. Both are among the very finest wines made from Zinfandel. The estate also producesexcellent white wines from Chardonnay that are unashamedly American in style.
