To my loving and supportive parents, Jerry & Scott Gonzalez. I could not have done this without you..
HOSPITALITY DESIGN
The challenge at hand is to create a fresh and forward thinking design for a full service boutique hotel. Bringing an open cohesive space plan together with a color palette reminiscent of our sandy beaches makes the hotel feel expansive yet comfortable and elegant. Vintage chic incorporated with natural elegance will create a seamless modern design by blending new and old, and natural and edgy. Distinctive visual elements, including organic materials and unique design details, "The Sequoia" will be the next hot spot on Miami Beach, Bringing a timeless allure with a modern twist.
DESIGN CONCEPT
PROJECT BRIEF Design a hotel located in the heart of Miami Beach, owned by Morgan's Hotel Group. This hotel is to be luxury boutique hotel that is unique from its other Miami Beach properties in both appearance and its focus on “glamorously green” design. Although an urban context this hotel is a place where guests will experience personalized service and a home-away-from-home ambiance in a setting of timeless elegance. Every design detail will contribute to an atmosphere where the ideal stay in Miami Beach can happen.

RETAIL DESIGN
High end jewelry store ore will be the premier location for luxury. Offering clients the ability to explore the depths of their desires. Deriving inspiration from that of which precious gems and metals are mined with the use of dark and brilliant materials. Ambient lighting will bring a sense of mystery, while dramatic general illumination will bring sensuality and richness to the space. Rough textures, sharp edges and caverness ceiling heights will ultimately assist in conveying the unique experience of finding your perfect treasure.

RETAIL DESIGN CONT.
To the left is a sample design schematic in which further illustrates the concept “Curl Your Enthusiasm”. Creating an impactful moment upon entering the new section of the store, these curvilinear fixtures will add a sense of fun and movement next to the rectilinear fixtures seen in the stores today. interactive computers are placed on the fixtures at the entrance of the area, bringing in the digital social media world to the in-store environment. They will be programed to help customers not only find the perfect product they are looking for, but other suggested products they may like. Customer will be able to check in, share what great products they found, and talk about their in-store experience, in-store. These visual merchandising fixtures are modular despite their curvilinear design. To the right demonstrates how they can create various different modules depending on the stores available square footage. No matter the orientation in which the modules are configured the concept will never be lost. Curling and twirling customers through the new dynamic hair care section of Sephora.

HEALTHCARE DESIGN
Life is fragile, and it is vital that we celebrate and protect it. It is neither the beginning nor the end but the cycle of life that is continuous part of nature. Linked by a single thread, life and death are the balanced and harmony of nature, constantly entwining itself around the lifelines of others. Those who provide heal and support along the way in extraordinary moments never to be forgotten. It is the moments, good and bad, which will shine the brightest for both those whose beautiful journeys are coming full circle and for those who's spirits will forever impact us. It is in this awareness that one can accept death, let go and embrace the beauty of a life lived. :
