Matt Gould, guitare / guitar

Le Dr Matt Gould a été qualifié d’un «guitariste capablede prestations de grande beauté, d’enthousiasme, etde contrôle» par son ancien professeur, ManuelBarrueco. Matt est également accompli dansl’interprétation du répertoire traditionnel, comme durépertoire moderne, de même que la méthodologied’enseignement traditionnelle et la Suzuki, se

spécialisant dans les approches pédagogiques d’AbelCarlevaro et Aaron Shearer. Son ensemble de musique

de chambre, Duo46 (en compagnie de la violoniste Beth Ilana Schneider-Gould) s’attaque au nouveau répertoire de musique de chambre avec guitare,ayant commissionné une centaine d’œuvres, incluant des doubles concertos,des trios avec mandoline (Avi Avital, Israel), clarinette (Jana Starling, Canada),violoncelle (Erich Oskar Huerter, Autriche), et piano (Nathanael May, États-Unis). Les partitions des œuvres du répertoire de Duo46 sont disponibles chez

Les Productions d’Oz, au Canada, et chez Sconfinarte, en Italie. La discographiede Duo46 est disponible chez les étiquettes Guitar Plus Records, Albany, Centaur, NEOS et Summit. Matt et Beth habitent présentement à Sudbury enOntario, avec leur fille Sophia Eden, et tous deux enseignent au CollègeCambrian, de Sudbury.

Dr. Matthew Gould has been described as a "guitarist capable of givingperformances of great beauty, enthusiasm and control" by his former teacherManuel Barrueco. Matt is equally versed in the performance of traditionalthrough modern literature and teaching both traditional and Suzukiapproaches with a specialty in the pedagogy of Abel Carlevaro and AaronShearer. His chamber music work in Duo46 (with violinist Beth Ilana Schneider-Gould) celebrates new chamber music for guitar with hundreds of

commissions including double concertos and trios with mandolin (Avi Avital,Israel), clarinet (Jana Starling, Canada), cello (Erich Oskar Hueter, Austria), andpiano (Nathanael May, USA). Sylvie Proulx, guitare/

guitarLa guitariste virtuose canadienne, Sylvie Proulx,s’est produit en concert à travers le Canada et lesÉtats-Unis, ainsi qu’en Angleterre. Active enmusique nouvelle pour la guitare, elle a effectué lacréation de plusieurs œuvres canadiennes. Admirée

pour sa musicalité exceptionnelle et sa techniqueimpressionnante, son répertoire contient un large

éventail de périodes et styles. En plus d’être une récitaliste et solistechevronnée, Sylvie est aussi un chambriste accomplie, toujours à la recherchede projets d’envergure.

Lauréate de plusieurs prix et concours, elle détient des diplômes debaccalauréat et maîtrise de l’Université d’Ottawa et de l’Université de Toronto,ayant étudié auprès d’Ed Honeywell et d’Eli Kassner.

Sylvie Proulx enseigne la guitare à l’École de musique de l’Université Memorial.

Canadian virtuoso guitarist, Sylvie Proulx has concertized throughout Canada,the United States, and England. A champion of new works for the guitar, shehas presented numerous Canadian world-premieres. Acclaimed for herexceptional musicality and remarkable technique, her repertoire reflects awide range of periods and styles. In addition to solo and orchestral work, Ms.Proulx always enjoys the collaborative aspect of chamber music, welcomingnew and challenging pieces for that genre.

Multi-award winning Sylvie Proulx holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from theUniversities of Ottawa and Toronto where she studied with Ed Honeywell andEli Kassner.

Ms. Proulx currently teaches guitar at Memorial University's School of Music.

Louis Trépanier, guitare /

Natif d’Ottawa, Louis Trépanier a étudié sous ladirection de Patrick Roux au Conservatoire de musiquedu Québec à Hull, d’où il obtient son diplôme en 1998en remportant le Prix en guitare. Cette même année, ilcofonde le Quatuor de guitare du Canada. Cetensemble s’est produit au travers l’Amérique du nord

et sud, ainsi qu’en Europe, recevant des éloges despubliques et des critiques partout où il passe.

Il enseigne présentement à l’École de musique de l’Université d’Ottawa, où ilest aussi le coordonnateur du secteur.

A native of Ottawa, Louis Trépanier studied under Patrick Roux at theConservatoire de Musique du Québec à Hull, graduating in 1998 with the Prix

en Guitare. This same year, he co-founded the Canadian Guitar Quartet. Thisaward-winning ensemble has since toured throughout North and SouthAmerica, as well as Europe, going from one standing ovation to the next.

He is currently Coordinator of the Guitar Sector at the University of Ottawa’sSchool of Music.

Murray Visscher, guitare/

Le guitariste canadien Murray Visscher s’estproduit en concert dans plusieurs villescanadiennes et américaines. Il est sollicitérégulièrement comme professeur et commeconcertiste.

Il détient une maîtrise en musique du SanFrancisco Conservatory, où il a étudié avec le réputé guitariste DavidTanenbaum ; il détient un baccalauréat en musique du Western WashingtonUniversity. Il est l’auteur d’un livre intitulé Music Theory for the Guitar .

Murray enseigne présentement au Mount Royal University Conservatory; avecson épouse, il habite à Calgary, en Alberta.

Canadian guitarist Murray Visscher has performed for audiences in majorcities in Canada and the United States. He is in demand as a performer andteacher.

He received his Masters Degree at the San Francisco Conservatory, under the

guidance of renowned guitarist David Tanenbaum, having received hisBachelor degree in music from Western Washington University. Murray hasalso written a book entitled Music Theory for the Guitar .

Murray is presently on the faculty of the Mount Royal University Conservatory.He lives with his wife in Calgary, Alberta.
