At the beginning everything was quite simple……

1992: CRITT Bois was a team of 4 engineers focused on technological competences.

CRITT realised about thirty studies per year, mainly in Lorraine.

The knowledge and was mastered as well as the simple and low information flows.

The information system of CRITT Bois is simple, efficient and user friendly!

Then we start growing up…

1992 – 2000:Meeting a rising demand, CRITT Bois develops its business with an opportunist behaviour.

The workforce has been multiplied by 3 (4 => 12) based on technological competences.

The geographical intervention area starts to widen.

Information flows start to grow and weaknesses emerge (internal and external staff turnover inducing losses of know-how,….);

Moreover, needs in organisation appear.

2000-2005:

Impact assessment study, brand image analysis;Staff size multiplied by 4 (4 => 16);120 studies per year at the national and European level;Implementation of Strategic intelligence: Epinette and DECILOR;Implementation of an internal organisation system.

2005-2007:

A 1.5 Mio € turnover & 5 % of which in net income;A 20-people team;80% of the turnover from services to the private sector;25% new customers per year;3 innovative internal developments per year;A global approach of SMEs and follow up;An intervention relying on networks and partnerships.

Knowledge Management and Strategic Intelligence

Are two complementary approaches;Strategic Intelligence aims at providing companies with strategic and qualified information (external information and mainly electronic in our case);Knowledge Management is more based on tacit knowledge.

KM gives a wide-ranged vision of the internal tacit and tangible situation of an organisation and thus

leads to a more efficient use of Strategic Intelligence.

We have started our KM approach assisted by an expert consulting group (Polia Consulting).We are supported by the Regional Council of Lorraine as pilot transfer centre.
